Domingo Santana $3.5M 2016

to the Twins for:
Michael Brantley $4M 2018

I'm giving up the FGM's #13 SP that is signed at a very good price thru 2019. Also included are two very good prospects who both have, albeit limited, MBL experience. Both have a real good chance at making rosters this season.
After trading Puig I was going to go with Stanton, Castillo and Smith in the OF this year but I couldn't pass up this deal.

We take a bit of a cap hit with this trade. Even though we are already strapped by the cap we have some other deals in play to hep with that issue. We move Brantley for one of the better young arms in baseball. At 25 years of age, Gray as established himself as a top of the rotation pitcher.
Sardinas put up nice numbers in his major league debut in 2014. Hitting for .261, he proved he can pay at the next level.
Santana struggled in his major league debut going 0 for 17. However, we still feel he has what it takes to make it to the show as a full-time player. during his time in the minors he has average a HR every 24 at bats.
