I disagree but can respect where you are coming from as it?s a guy who?s been a big name for a long time. Verlander was posted on trade block 10 days ago so not sure this is an issue of not gauging interest. And the injuries aren?t a positive. And even when factoring for that his per game stats are 10+ points less than previous peaks, currently in line with mid to back end rotation guys. Covering salary does matter, maybe I?m not valuing that correctly but i guess as someone with cap room and the fact he?s a rental, it doesn?t carry that much value to me. It seems I value the prospects more than you do. Elvin Rodriguez, despite not having prospect status anymore has great stats at AAA and was getting hype as latest Rays success story and due to be called up ahead of Taj Bradley before he got injured. Not sure id consider him a non prospect. Cusick was my 2021 first rounder and a key part in the Olsen trade a year ago so not sure id call him toast. In any event, we?ll go back to the drawing board but not sure I?ll move forward on the trade if these are the valuations I?m gonna have to overcome.

Angels approve. This makes me a bit nervous as Cusick was a recent first rounder for me and Rodriguez may be the latest guy the Rays are polishing into a diamond. Plus Verlander hasnt been himself so far. Could blow up on me if Cusick or Rodriguez hits or could be great if Verlander gets in a groove and helps lead me to a championship this year. That?s the game. Thanks to Dan for quick fair negotiations

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Trades / Re: Angels/Jays

Angels approve.

Angels seem to perpetually be in need of catching and this will help as he can platoon with the other Twins catcher we already have. Salary paid down next couple years and a pick help. Traded from areas of depth in backup middle infield and relief pitching and feel confident we have guys who can step into those roles and the cap space to make this trade work. A big believer in Akin and think he will be solid RP over next few years but catching always harder to fill so rather have depth there. Thanks to Jays for quick easy negotiations for a win-win deal. Just hoping this added depth they got doesn?t knock me out in playoffs

Angels looking for SP and C help for the stretch run

From ML players most open to dealing OF Harrison Bader for a quality pitcher or starting level catcher

Also willing to deal from RP depth and prospects/picks

Angels agree. Solano fills a need for a backup 2B and I think Espinal could be a decent depth piece and the draft pick can help restock the farm. I still think Muller can be a useful pitching piece with a lot of control but Angels in win now and don?t want to wait the year or two for him to figure things out.

Thanks to Mets for quick fair negotiations

  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
