You can't stack minor guys for two reasons.  A)  there is a minor league roster size limit and B) once a guy plays 40 games in their career they must go to the major league roster or be released.

I understand why you guys made changes at first, to close a revolving door of call ups and send downs which effected signing prices for free agent prospects and then getting the cheaper by calling them up, sending them down, and then getting the cheaper contract for the draft position upon the next call up...confusing sorry. 

Contractually, two separate rosters are important, but for scoring purposed I don't think it is.

Calgary does win here in this trade but i do like getting Cole and Smith as i believe Smith is a huge upgrade over Anderson.Glencross is having a good year so far and Strome is a great talent down the road.Losing Peverly,Abdelkader and the older Cleary not a problem as i have plenty of backup on my roster
