Franchise GM: Completed Trades / Re: Yankees/Cardinals Deal« on: January 30, 2019, 04:00:39 PM »
New York confirms. It was tough to see a few of these guys go like Pearson, McClanahan, and Kloffenstein but that's the price you pay to fix a train wreck of an organization that I acquired. Chapman and Kershaw are not young but 31 isn't exactly old either, so hopefully I'll be able to to build around them and get a championship caliber team built

Franchise GM: Invalid Transactions / Yankees and Cardinals Trade - Invalid« on: January 30, 2019, 03:05:29 AM »
New York receives:
Aroldis Chapman 5.5(2019) St. Louis receives: Dee Gordon 10.5(2021) Dexter Fowler 10.5(2019) +(both can be flipped for more prospects/players) Hunter Pence 10(2019) Denard Span 5(2019) Jose Reyes 5(2019) Homer Bailey 3.5(2019) + ($23.5m in questionable value, but all expiring contracts so possible value if good 1st half performances) Mike Siani .5(P-n/a) (4th round pick in 2018 draft who SIGNED FOR $2M!!!! THAT'S 1st ROUND MONEY) New York receives: Clayton Kershaw 12(2019) St. Louis receives: Mike Napoli 7.5(2019) Hishashi Iwakuma 5.5(2019) Kris Medlen 3(2019) Connor Gillaspie 2(2019) + (This is $18m in "dead weight") Nate Pearson .5(P-n/a) (#76 prospect/ top of rotation stuff) Shane McClanahan .5(P-n/a) (1st round pick in 2018 draft. Chris Sale comps with "better stuff out of the draft") Adam Kloffenstein .5(P-n/a) (3rd round pick in 2018 draft who SIGNED FOR $2.45M!!!! THAT'S 1st ROUND MONEY) Bubba Thompson .5(P-n/a) (#10 Texas prospect but climbing. 20/20 upside with .280+ avg potential) This is the same exact deal but I've tried to break it down in two separate deals that hopefully make it easier to see. In the top trade the value of Dee Gordon and Dexter Fowler plus prospect Mike Sani are worth more than the less than desirable value of the other players. But I am also taking an overpaid (by league stardards) relief pitcher to take back some of the money I am.sending. We can all go into free agency and find a reliever who will get $4m-$5m less than Chapman and still score as many points. As for the second trade, Clayton Kershaw is a future hall of famer, yes, but he is not the Clayton Kershaw of 3-4 years ago . In the past 5 seasons he has missed 34 starts due to various injures, or an average of almost 7 per season). He is on the wrong side of 30 so these issues are not going away. I am sending him 4 top prospects, as explained above, and $23m in dead cap space that all expires this season. However, he is really only taking on $11m in dead because he is subtracting the $12m that is being paid to Kershaw. I know that some of you don't agree with the trade because you might not make it, but this trade is more than fair in the eyes of the two GM's making it, it does not break any rules, and it is not an obvious throw away trade by either GM because they are mad or quitting or whatever. It was done in good faith and should stand (please). 694

Plus, have you seen some of Ryan's teams in other leagues? I think he knows what he is doing. This trade isn't shifting major power like taking the outfield of the Red Sox, along with Devers and a few starters and relievers, and combining it with the infield and starting pitching of the Indians. That would be a ridiculously good team. This trade is nothing like that

Before this gets moved away can I have some clarification on what needs to be changed?

This isn't Kershaw of 3-4 years ago. He's probably closer to a #2 now and he is injury prone. He's had the same back issues 3 years in a row

Yankees trade:
Wei-Yin Chen 2020 $2.5m Jordan Luplow P-n/a $0.5m Brandon Drury P-2019 $0.5m Nate Jones 2019 $0.5m Indians trade: Yandy Diaz P-n/a $0.5m Randal Grichuk 2021 $12.5m Carter Kieboom P-n/a $0.5m Tristan McKenzie P-n/a $0.5m ## please demote Kieboom and McKenzie to the minors Yankees agree. I think Drury could be a poor man's Marwin Gonzalez if he's given the chance. Jordan Luplow has all kinds of potential and Pittsburgh has a knack for unlocking potential like his. My return seems obvious. Grichuk isn't exactly cheap but he is talented and I am the Yankees. Kieboom and McKenzie restock my farm and should help my team by 2020. Thanks Brian 699
