Carolina confirms
Didn't realize this guy was in such demand. I had three offers for him in the last hour.
I would rather use the cap space to pursue other options on d.
Good luck Dtox and welcome to the league

I don't think it would keep with whole concept of the salary cap if we allowed players to be used in games that didn't count against it.
My idea would be that a guy can be called up or sent down during the first 82 games but after that he has to stay up with the big club or be bought out. Once you call him up the first time you would give him a two way contract which only counts against the cap while he's on the main roster(same rules apply for length and amount as they do today). After 82 games it becomes one way and he has to be called up or bought out.
Whatever though just my two cents.

If anybody is interested in Alex Goligoski, $5.5m (2014-2018)
Let me know in the next few days. I'll probably make a move on him after my most recent trade gets approved.
He's a buyout candidate as far as I'm concerned so his price tag would be cheap. If you have the cap space and feel like he's a good reclamation project for your team send me a PM.

Sharks are sending out more salary than they are taking back. Hurricanes have 4m in cap space.

PPG ADDS TRADE LOGO TO POST
Hurricanes Trade:
TJ Oshie, $5.5m (2015-2019) Trevor Van Riemsdyk, $0.2m (2015-2017)
Sharks Trade: Mikko Rantanen, $2.5m (2016-2018-EL) Alex Goligoski, $5.5m (2014-2018) C - Jack Roslovic (2015: 1/25 - 0 Games) LW - Nikita Gusev (2012: 7/202 - 0 Games)
I hate to trade Oshie but after much thought I decided we need to stick with the youth movement. We get two pretty good prospects and a potential wildcard in Gusev. I'll be honest Goligoski has a god awful contract and will likely have a new home before christmas(bid him up boys)
Indians' philosophy is to win now so he gets a prime Oshie and a more than capable D Man in Van Riemsdyk. I figured I'd likely lose him in the expansion draft anyway so no big loss(sorry daddy) although I would have like to have held on to him.

Carolina isn't actively seeking a trade but would listen to offers for everyone. Really the only three assets I couldn't see myself trading are montembeault, my first round pick and Drai Looking for: High draft picks and young ascending players primarily. If players such as oshie or Johnson were to be dealt that's the return I'd be looking for.
Also wouldn't mind adding another established forward if the price was reasonable.
Willing to talk if you see something that would put you over the top let me know. Otherwise I'm happy to stand pat and see what the offseason brings.

Montreal gets the best two players in the deal so Montreal wins the deal in my mind. I understand what the Ducks are trying to do though. There definitely has to be strategy involved to manipulate the cap.

Carolina Confirms:
McNabb is a solid #2-3 D on a good contract. While I don't have a ton of depth upfront this year(or anywhere for that matter) I'm hoping Greenway, Keller Strome and Speers are all contributors next season so I think it makes sense to pull the trigger on this trade.
Thanks PPG. I appreciate the easy trade talks.
