Pretty good for tanking your season in Houston though; can't imagine why anyone would want to tank either, but that's you.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: How Should We Fix the Scheduling Issue?« on: May 31, 2014, 05:33:18 PM »To me this is a very tough call. It is not fair for within-division teams to play unequal schedules. At the same point however, the past matchups already happened and roster moves may have been done differently. The mistake, I assume, was completely unintentional and I hope a clear answer comes out through a vote. Can't see how roster moves would have been any different at all, as they are always done to maximize the point total (unless you are tanking the season on purpose). 203

Thanks Pete! I'd say you've made my point quite eloquently. Almost half the league has been effected. every other team in the league has played 3 to 4 games within it;s division. Again, not the fault of current league management. Yahoolando made the name swap with Chris just before making him the new commish just before quitting and neither of them ever corrected the schedule. Chris knew about this all along and never spoke up. Seems like cheating to me. 204

And since chris chimed inwith his usual acidic tones, let's keep it perfectly real; this is not an error by current league management, this "name-swap deal" was performed while the previous commissioner to you (yahoolando) was running the league and you took over for him after that.
So you are the one who is responsible for the current league schedule and surely, you knew this would happen with the schedule. So who's protecting what here, Chris? 205

I know you guys work your buts off on this league, so whatever works. No...actually we should not be playing each other again. We sine we essentially only have 4 teams in our division instead of five, as the Pirates are playing the schedule of the Astros and vice/versa, which is why he doesn't want to error fixed going all the way back to the beginning of the season. Doubt he'd be undefeated in our division, the toughest in the league. 206
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: Schedule errors.« on: May 30, 2014, 02:39:02 PM »I think you should leave the past alone, it was not an intentional mistake. Fitzy is just trying to improve his standing by re-scheduling weeks that have already been played. You're darn right I am, Chris. But let's face it, it is a huge error. Not a small one and a third of the season has gone by and I think you are the one trying to protect your record, which if played within the division like everyone else, would not be undefeated and that IS the point. Doing what's right for the leahueand the season. Why should you get to complate the season without playing within the division (the toughest in the league BTW)? 207

If it's not too much work, I would prefer to make it right from the beginning of the schedule. Our division is one of the toughest and inter-division games are the quickest way to make up/lose ground.

Well said. People looking for the "un-written rule" to break, are simply trying to gain an unfair advantage. 209

Why don't we make signing veterans to minor league contracts illegal? Should be that way anyway.

The Astros and the Pirates are the only two teams in the league who have played zero division games this year. I'm sure it is because they swapped names at some point.
Unfortunately their schedules weren't swapped as well. The Pirates are still playing games against their previous division's opponants and so are the Astros. Seems like an unfair advantage considering that the National League Central Division is the toughest, at this point. |
