Field of Dreams / Re: Contract Extension Assistance
« on: January 26, 2024, 08:42:47 PM »
Being new to this league I need some questions answered on contract extensions to better manage my roster and salary cap. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

#1 - If a MLB player under the contract column has a 6th entered then he must be offered a contract extension during the month of November following the upcoming season to prevent him from becoming a free agent, am I correct?

Yes, any player that is in 6th year can be extended after the 2024 season before I roll it over.

#2 - If a MLB player under the contract column has 2025 am I too assume that his contract expires after the 2025 season or does it expire after the 2024 season and I have to offer a contract extension during the month of November following the 2024 season?

It expires at the end of the current season.  If this is something I need to look into to make sure that it is better understood by everyone I can certainly do that.  But all 2025 expires at the end of this current year.

#3 - If a minor league player under the contract column has a 1st entered and I keep him on my roster after the season ends, then the following season the player will have a 2nd entered under the contract column and this will continue to advance until he completes his 5th season in the minors unless I release him?

Not necessarily.  The player will not go into his 2nd year until he makes his initial MLB debut.  Once he makes his MLB debut then the clock will tick on him and each year he will gain eligability.

Field of Dreams / Field of Dreams Free agency
« on: January 16, 2024, 01:23:22 PM »
I will likely set free agency to begin the first Monday of February.  Please take note of the rules.  The most important rule is that all players except for Japanese players who have either not played in an MLB game or have six years or less of MLB service are considered prospects.

An example is Nick Senzel, who is now in his sixth year.   He is a prospect, and any dollar amount bid on him would be considered a one-time bonus for this year.  So if you bid 10 million, then he is a prospect, 6th year, 10.3million

Japanese players are not prospects and must be bid on as regular players.   You can move them to and from the minors until exhausted.

If you have any questions please post them to this thread.   I will reengage the penalty for dropping players the day before free agency begins.  Right now all drops are free, but that will be changed.   Any player you drop that is a 2025 or greater contract is a 80 percent penalty for this year only.

your all set.  I have taken care of everything and you are attached to the league and bio's updated here.  Your team logo above should take you directly to your club.

What I would like to do is asssit you in signing in current brewers players that are free agents and avaiailable.  I have a MIL player or 2 on Reds roster I would like to trade you for.

I would like you to post any claims for brewers players in the transactions folder along with any drops you would like to make.

We have not yet begun free agency but now that the league is full I will schedule that.   I want you to try and make your moves by Saturday this week if you don't mind.  Any questions just fire away here on the board and I will answer them.  I get alot of emails and most go to spam and are deleted so please dont email me just post here or PM me and I will deal with anything you need.  Thanks

Jon

Welcome to the leauge Nippy.

I have a favor to ask of you.  I am willing to give you the :MIL: Brewers but I have a favor to ask.  I am a huge Reds fan.   I would prefer to play with :CIN:.  Would you allow me to attach you to the :MIA: and rename to :MIL: I will survive either way.  This way win win

I will also help in any way to get you any :MIL: player that I can

  • Daddy: This 2024 NFL Draft class is better than 90% of every draft ive witnessed since 1980. In NFL LIVE if you arent a top ten team, i strongly urge that you invest in 2024 draft.

  • Daddy: Just know, if you miss time at any point of the year, not just the active season. You have missed a lot. You've probably fallen behind your competition. Ten-Fifteen guys in all three of those leagues dont ever miss any opportunities.

  • Daddy: One more thing. The NFL LIVE waiting list is longer than you see on profsl or fantrax. There are people that know people that want in that league. No pressure on anyone but i cant just hold your franchise while you draft and do nothing else.
