Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / TRADE - Angels and A's« on: May 06, 2010, 12:17:11 PM »
The Angels and A's have agreed to the following deal:
receive: CI Dobbs, Greg, $1.5m (2010) CI Ka'aihue, Kila, $0.5m (P-n/a) for receive OF Dukes, Elijah, $0.5m (P-2010) The A's do this deal to add additional bench help and gamble on Kila. Kila has good power and great BB%. Elijah has talent, but I would rather gamble on Kila at this point. It frees up some cash for the Angels and Dukes is a good wildcard to have on the roster. Angels to agree. 475

Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / TRADE - Marlins and A's Agreement« on: May 02, 2010, 11:52:33 PM »
The and the have agreed to the following deal:
receive MI/CI Fontenot, Mike, $0.5m (P-2010) and receive: OF Coghlan, Chris, $0.5m (P-2012) While Coghlan is struggling now, I believe he may be able to rebound. He is a good OBP guy when he gets it going. I am a big Fontenot fan, but Hank needed a MI and Fontenot fits the bill. Both players are young hitters in good lineups. Good deal for both. This trade is pending the approval of the Cubbies/A's deal from earlier. The Marlins are to confirm. 477

Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / TRADE - Cubbies/A's agree to deal« on: May 02, 2010, 04:49:12 PM »
The and the agree to the following deal:
will receive: MI Fontenot, Mike, $0.5m (P-2010) OF Hawpe, Brad, $6m (2011) P Norris, Bud, $0.5m (P-n/a) will receive: MI Drew, Stephen, $5.0m (2010) P Ray, Chris, $0.5m (2010) P Hirsh, Jason, $0.5m (2010) I believe that Drew is breaking out this year, but I do not know if I will resign him because his resign value depends on this year. Ray is beginning to throw well and Hirsh is an injury away from being a SP with the Yanks. I like Hawpe, even when he is slumping, he is an OBP machine. The crowded situation in Col is somewhat concerning, but I could easily see him begin to transition to 1B or a trade for some SP to free up the playing time. Norris is young and has a good K/9, he will be insurance for my rotation. Fontenot kills righties and he will serve as a bench player. Good deal for both, Cubs to agree. 480
Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / Braves/A's Deal« on: April 27, 2010, 12:57:46 PM »
Oakland A's and the Atlanta Braves have agreed to the following deal:
Oakland Receives: CI Stewart, Ian, $0.5m (P-2011) P Jurrjens, Jair, $0.5m (P-2011) OF Anderson, Garret, $1.5m (2011) X Braves to pay $1m in 2010 toward Anderson OF McLouth, Nate, $5.5m (2011) X Braves to pay $1m in 2010 toward McLouth for Atlanta Receives: OF Maybin, Cameron, $0.5m (P-2012) OF Bradley, Milton, $4m (2010) P Anderson, Brett, $0.5m (P-2012) P Perry, Ryan, $0.5m (P-2012) I went toe-to-toe with the King. I think we both came out competitive for this year and looking good for the future. So I make this move for Stewart a very good young bat. He is producing very well and his career numbers show last year's OBP struggles to be more of an anomaly. I also recieve Jurrjens a serviceable arm, I hoping he begins to bounce back from his early season struggles. McLouth is a good option in the OF, he walks a ton, provides stats across the board, hopefully his 40% K rate can lower to his career norms. He is a very streaky player. GA adds depth. I give up a premier young arm in Anderson. His innings increase 2008 - 2009 and high slider % worry me. He is great when on the mound and locked in thru 2012. Maybin will be very good, but appears to be somewhat streaky. He is a toolshed, but we will have to see how he continues to develop. Milton is a wild card, I see him and Mclouth as a wash, both are looking to get it going. Perry is a good young arm, but in our scoring format, he is simply ok. Trade is pending that the TC approves the Marlins/A's deal from a few days ago. Good deal for both. |
