Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Buffalo/LA blockbuster part 2
« on: April 19, 2011, 01:05:00 AM »
Buffalo Sends:
1st Overall Pick
Matt Greene, $3.0m (2013-14)

LA Sends:
Vinny Prospal, $1.2m (2011-12)
Nathan Gerbe, $0.5m (2011-12)
Devan Setoguchi, $2.7m (2011-12)
Jonathon Blum, $0.5m (2011-12)
Round 2 - OTT

I might have gave up the second coming, but I was not originally planning on getting this pick anyway. In exchange for the pick, I get a bunch of solid players that can contribute for my championship run this year. I really like all of these players and can honestly see all of them being good contributors. Good doing business with ya ^.^

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Philadelphia/Buffalo blockbuster
« on: April 14, 2011, 10:52:48 PM »
Buffalo sends:
Evgeni Malkin, $8.7m (2013-14)

Philadelphia sends:
David Krejci, $3.8m (2011-12)
1st Round - PHI
2nd Round - EDM

This is amazing for me! I move a top dollar player for what will hopefully be two promising players and a depth center. This will help me a lot when it comes to resigning a lot of my expiring contracts and picking up some free agents.

Great dealing with ya, Colby.

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Brendan Morrison - Send Down
« on: April 11, 2011, 10:36:21 PM »
The guy needs to play it a little slow with his surgery, so off to the minors he goes.

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Buy Out Samil Salo D
« on: April 09, 2011, 03:32:23 PM »
The guy didn't put up his usual numbers, and in fact, looks prime to retire shortly... I'll make it easier on him and send the Canauck on his way to the golf course.

Placing all of his cash on this years budget, so his buy out will be 2.4M (2010-11)

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Waiver Free Period
« on: March 31, 2011, 05:21:12 PM »
I know there has been no announcement about it yet, but I wanted to post an opinion on the subject.

I believe the deadline for the waiver free period should coincide with the offseason free agency period, as not only will it be easier to remember two dates, but having both periods open during the same time frame will give everyone a chance to tweak their rosters however they like.

Drew: If I am out of line for posting this, please let me know.

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Flyers Suggestion
« on: March 19, 2011, 06:04:52 PM »
Since the flyers do not have a GM and he didn't really do much to help the team, I got an idea: why don't we give the new guy who comes in a week to do whatever he needs/wants to get his team in order? Personally, unless this was offered to me, I wouldn't take the team as the only positive you will get out of this is a top 5 draft pick. Seems reasonable to me. What do you guys think?

Buffalo Gives:
Magnus Paajarvi, $1.5m (2012-13)
Chris Pronger, $4.9m (2013-14)

Dallas Gives:
Danny Briere, $6.5m (2013-14)

I needed another winger with a lot of power for the stretch, as my point production from the wing has been minimum. Briere definitely gives me the power I need.

Backyard NHL: Invalid Transactions / Buffalo/Dallas deal #3
« on: March 16, 2011, 05:35:29 PM »
Dallas Gives:
Blake Comeau, $0.7m (2010-11)
3rd Round - BUF

Buffalo Gives:
1st Round - BUF

Buffalo gets a solid player for our run at our division title while getting a 3rd to keep the future alive.
