Cubs accept. Lawrie's a gamble at this point, but he's young enough that I think his upside is still worth it. The core of the deal for me is Medica and Cain for a CI upgrade and a bit of cap space. Lawrie over Medica should solidify the cubs lineup. The rest the pieces were required to make us both comfortable with the trade and I think I will be able to replace them with the freed up cap space. Reds to accept when they can; thanks for the talks and getting something worked out.

Cubs accept. Another trade of young talent for win-now talent. As long as Votto can stay healthy and regain some form, he should provide an upgrade at CI with an eye on winning next year.

Cubs accept. I don't like giving up high prospects but after getting bumped from the wild card two years in a row, I think some short term boosts are needed. If Bruce and Pedroia can regain some of their form Cubbies should have a good shot at making a deep playoff push next year.
