Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / International Free Agents clarifications« on: February 03, 2012, 07:11:59 PM »
There's been some confusion about what kind of contracts can be offered to international free agents. ANY major league contract offer supercedes ANY minor league offer.
Also for international free agents, please list a DOB and country of origin and any other identifying information you may have about the player. Both of these rules will be added to the league constitution. Thanks and sorry for any confusion. 144

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Trade Committee« on: January 22, 2012, 05:22:45 PM »
Trades Committee
The commissioner will be in charge of ruling on each trade. He will thoroughly and carefully look through every trade and consider every angle while reviewing a trade. There are guidelines as well. 1. Any league member can comment and review a trade as well, posting all thoughts (by members only), which will be taken into consideration while reviewing a trade . Any postings on trades will be considered when picking active members for ProFSL points. 2. 48 hours after both parties have accepted the trade and the trade has been approved, it will pass. 3. If a trade is questioned for the right reasons that 48 hour clock will extend to 72 hours. Vetos require an explanation. Approvals do not; it is assumed an approval means an agreement with the reasoning posted by the organizations involved. 4. If a decision is made by the commissioner and 3 members or more (not including the members involved in the trade) disagree with the ruling, it can be overruled. 5. If for any reason a trade sits for 72 hours and no negative comments or vetos were made in the post, then the trade passes. 6. Any trade that violates any part of the league constitution will be automatically vetoed. 146
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / New Braves GM. Red Sox available.« on: January 17, 2012, 10:33:27 PM »
Reid (fantasyguru) will be taking over the Braves.
The Red Sox are available again. Since this team was offered just recently and we didn't have any takers, I'm skipping the 48 hour internal application period. People can still choose to switch to the Red Sox if they wish, but I'm already reaching out to outsiders for the position. 147

The new Pirates GM is.... myself! I've always had a thing for Pittsburgh (the city) for some reason. Almost went there for college. Almost went there again for grad school. Decided on elsewhere both times.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / IMPORTANT: FREE AGENCY (RULES REVISED 1/29)« on: January 12, 2012, 06:14:54 PM »
Free agency to start 2/2/12 8pm ET.
Rules in the league constitution to be followed with the following exceptions: - 48 hr hold time for final offers instead of 24 hrs. - Players who had expired contracts (listed in the “2011 New FA” worksheet) will be divided into 6 rounds (Rounds 1-5 has 35 players each, and Round 6 has the remaining players). There is no fixed length for each round, but a new round of players will be released for bid every week. - Players who were released and are free agents (listed in the “Free Agents” worksheet) may be bid on at any time after bidding begins. - Free agents not listed (such as international players) fall under the 2nd category. If there are any questions or concerns, please make them known now. 1/29/12 EDIT: - There are no more No Trade Clauses. 1/18/12 EDIT: I will be adding the following unless somebody doesn't think this is best: Minor league free agents with more than 6 years MLB service time will be limited to a one year contract. 150

The external ProFSL trade committee will be disbanded, so we will need to set up an internal one. I'm looking for volunteers. Let me know if you're interested.
