Dynasty NHL: Archive / Labor Day weekend

I'll be in and out again all weekend and I'm taking Tuesday off too. So the transactions might pile up but don't worry I'll get em all processed on Wednesday. Have a great long weekend everyone!

Prior to this deal the Canadiens released Scott Gomez and will owe him $7.4 for 3 years. Per DNHL rules if a released player is picked up by another team, the releasing team receives a 50% reduction to the players cap hit. The owner of the Kings has put a bid on Gomez, so, behind the scenes here the Canadiens are receiving $3.7m in cap relief.

Colby has begun tracking leagues' forum activity based on average page view per month. In his first report our league placed 3rd amongst all leagues on ProFSL behind only Northern League and Franchise GM, both of these leagues having more teams than us. This is slightly inflated as we just had our draft, but it's no fluke. I doubt any other league can boast that just about every single team had multiple trades in their first month of existence.

Colby will be using these stats to determine league's ProFSL points, so the more active we are, the more points will be awarded for success in our league.

I just want to give you all kudos for being obsessive sports junkies like myself! I never imagined I'd get a group of owners so active, involved and knowledgeable. It's been a blast so far. I heard recently that most dynasty-type leagues only last a couple years but based on how it's gone so far I can see us lasting for the long haul.
