I'm getting everything set up for next season and could use a little help. I need to audit rosters for prospects whose 2 year clock should be starting and LTIR players who are healthy. I'm looking for 3 volunteers, each will take a division and look up every (P-n/a) player to see if they hit 40 games this year and also if any teams in the division have LTIR players who are now healthy and should be moved to the active roster. I'm looking to have this audit done by the end of next week so that I can rollover the spreadsheet and post rosters for 12/13 and get extensions rolling. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Let me know, Rob

Proposed rule changes for the upcoming season:
Minimum years for extensions I would like to add a rule to require minimum years on extension contracts. This is to prevent teams from signing pricey extensions to short term deals. If you had the best LW in the league in 2010/2011 and he's up for an extension now, you could easily sign him to a one year deal at the #1 extension price for LW, then hope he gets cheaper at the next extension date. I want to avoid this. Here's my proposal for minimum years on contracts:
Salary - Minimum Years $6.5m+ - 5 years $5 to $6.4m - 4 years $3.5 to $4.9m - 3 years $2 to $3.4m - 2 years
Flex Waiver Rule Each team is allowed to send one player to the minors who would not otherwise qualify for the minors. This rule is intended to give roster/cap flexibility to teams if they have players eating cap room who are injured or unproductive. To send a player to the minors the player would first have to clear a 72 hour waiver wire. During this time any team in the league may claim the player. If claimed, the claiming team would assume 50% of the contract value with the team of origin responsible for the other half. If the player goes unclaimed the team would be able to send the player to minors and while in the minors the team will receive a 50% cap reduction for the player.
Contract Buyout Teams are now given the option to buyout player contracts at a reduced rate. The buyout for any player is the value of the current contract year + 50% of the following year + 25% of all remaining years. This buyout must be paid immediately, it cannot be spread across multiple years.
Buyout example: C Mike Richards, $5.8m (2018-2019) Current year 12/13: $5.8m 50% of 13/14: $2.9m 25% of 14/15: $1.5m 25% of 15/16: $1.5m 25% of 16/17: $1.5m 25% of 17/18: $1.5m 25% of 18/19 $1.5m Total buyout amount = $16.2m
This is an expensive example which shows that high priced longterm contracts are still very hard to get rid of. I expect this rule will be used to remove smaller deals for the most part, while the Flex Waiver rule will help with larger deals.
I believe this covers everything we have discussed. Please let me know if this all sounds good. Any and all input is appreciated.
Thanks, Rob

Our new Calgary owner is not a huge fan of Calgary... What would everyone think if I let him change his team to Nashville? This year he would be required to keep Calgary picks but as of next year he would be Nashville and be able to keep Nashville picks in the entry draft in 2013. Does anyone have an issue with this?

Please join me in welcoming Ryan (norrya66) to the league! Ryan is a new ProFSL member and a huge hockey guy. He's got some work in front of him, whipping Calgary back into shape.
Gilly has some real life issues he needs to dedicate his time to and asked to be replaced.
Welcome to DNHL and good luck!!!
