I'm wondering how we could be drafting prospects at this point, while the amateur draft is still ongoing?

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Players not listed in Fantrax.« on: November 05, 2013, 08:08:26 PM »
I posted this question once before but don't see it on the board any longer, so I'm asking again about the guys who aren't listed in Fantrax.
I'm not too worried about the kids in the lower-levels but I do have one player who was on my 40-man roster last year that I want there again and he isn't listed anywhere. SP Alexander Torres with the Rays. How can I get him back on my roster this year? 53
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Draft picks our teams may have traded for before we became managers.« on: October 25, 2013, 01:36:40 AM »
Is there any way for us to know in advance of the draft exactly which picks we own. I joined the league late last year after the draft and most of free agency and had no participation in international free agents last year.
I believe this is the league's 3rd year, so there were obviously a lot of trades which happened before anyone who joined later would not know about. Would this be listed on the spread-sheet if draft-picks were traded for certain years? 54
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / How many votes should it take to veto a trade?« on: October 10, 2013, 11:33:57 PM »
In a 30 team league, how does it happen that such a small number of people control all the trades? Shouldn't it take a majority? % is not a majority in a 30 team league.
I manage leagues myself and in my opinion in 25 years of fanatasy sports, allowing a small few to veto deals is not a good thing. And it's always the same people who are doing the vetoing. That's just not fair in any way shape or form and ruins the enjoyment of such a deep and complicated league and I feel is the real reason so many owners are quitting and have to be replaced each year. Over 20 of them since I joined in March. This 5 team trade would never, ever be allowed in MLB and shouldn't be allowed here either. And these are the same owners who always block anyone else from trading...unless of course it's with one of them. My trade was unfairly vetoed. A simple little deal that would not change the league power structure at all and yet 5 teams just swapped their entire rosters, all their draft picks, tons of cash both from the salary cap and the international monies, but my little deal and several others who are not members of this "inner circle" get vetoed for so many petty reasons all hidden behind the statement "equal value". We cannot have these same 5 people controlling the trades. It's simply unfair and is the definition of collusion. 55

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Transactions / Reds would like to extend Hunter Pence.« on: October 03, 2013, 09:27:18 PM »
The Reds wish to offer Hunter Pence a 3 yr extension, but I just don't know where to find or how to use the rankings.
Do we base his future salary on last year's salary? And then match it up with the percentile's on the extension worksheet? All I know is he made 10.4m last year. 59
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: Cincinnati Reds - Trade Block« on: October 03, 2013, 01:20:33 AM »
SS Jose Reyes - Looking for infield depth. He's on a 1 yr contract at $21m.
I'd take a 2nd or 3rd tier SS and draft-picks/prospects at high levels or pay a portion of his salary or some combination there of. 60
Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / International players eligible for draft.« on: October 03, 2013, 12:34:42 AM »
This might be a dumb question, but are the international players going to be a part of the 30 round amateur draft or is that held separately?
I couldn't find any information of when the international free agents will be drafted. Sorry if it's posted and I just didn't find it. |
