Oakland Athletics :OAK:

2020: Western Division 7th Place (23-37)
The short season did not go well for the A’s.  The A’s finished 7th in the Western Division and 18th overall.  The A’s have an assortment of layers with expiring contracts and the GM will have to make some key personnel decisions.

2019: AL West 4th Place (83-79)
The A’s floundered a bit as the team was beset by injuries and under performance.  Although finishing 4 games over .500, the A’s need to acquire some help to fill gaps in its lineup and rotation.

2018: AL West 2nd Place (116-46)
The A’s had a strong season.  The A’s qualified for the playoffs as a Wild Card team.  They upset the Orioles in the Wild Card round and advanced to the ALDS. In the ALDS, the A’s continued their winning ways and defeated the Mariners.  The A’s Cinderella season ended in the ALCS when the Tampa Bay Rays defeated them by a mere 78 points.

2017: AL West 3rd Place (101-61)
Under new leadership of TheCliff, the A’s had a winning record, but failed to make the playoffs.

2016: AL West Champs (108-47)
The A’s were eliminated in the 2nd Round of the playoffs by the World Series runner-up Chicago White Sox.

2015: FGM World Series Champion  :win: (83-8)
After dominating the AL West again, the A’s finally made it to the promised land. The MillerTime Oakland A’s defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win the FGM World Series.

2014: AL West Champs (121-20)
The A’s once again ran away with the AL West, but unfortunately, we’re eliminated in the 2nd Round by the eventual league champion, the New York Yankees.

2013: AL West Champs (127-24)
Led by some heavy lumber of Buster Posey, Robinson Cano, and Andrew McKutchen, the A’s won the AL West, but lost in the 1st Round of the playoffs.

2012: AL West Champs (123-34)
Oakland had another great year, culminating in being crowned FGM's 2012 World Series Champions!  The A's pitching staff was led by Zach Greinke and Jordan Zimmerman, while their everyday lineup featured Robinson Cano, Andrew McCutchen, and Carlos Quinten.

2011: AL West Champs (103-59)
Oakland dominated the entire year and runner-up Texas wasn't in reach.  The A's, having their best record since the days of Billy Beane, led the American League.  The team's offense was led by three premier all-stars in 2B Robinson Cano, 1B Mark Teixeira, and CF Andrew McCutchen.  Oakland played Toronto in the ALDS, the same opponent from 2010, but the Blue Jays took revenge as the bats in Oakland went quiet.

2010: AL West Champs (95-67)
New GM Rob overhauled the roster by not signing the players his predecessor traded for, and then swapped the first seven rounds of the 2010 draft (and some players) for Aramis Ramirez, Kendry Morales, Yunel Escobar, Stephen Drew, Cameron Maybin, Justin Smoak, Josh Johnson, and Francisco Liriano.  Nearly the entire team changed.  The only original A from 2009 on the offense was Kurt Suzuki and the only starting pitcher was Brett Anderson.  Rob did an amazing job over that offseason as the A's soared to the top of the AL West standings and never looked back.  They were atop the AL West all year long, won the division, beat the Blue Jays in the ALDS and then lost to the Yankees in the ALCS.

2009: 2nd in AL West (81-81)
The A's tried to make a push for the playoffs but were far off from the wildcard and could not catch the Angels.  Original management, headed up by Michael, made some trades in 2009 for Jered Weaver, Kelvim Escobar, and some Yankee prospects.

Management
Cliff Thecliff 2/19/17 - Present
Travis (soonerorlitigator) (1/12/17 - 2/18/17
Brandon J. (Brandonj226) (9-29-16 - 1-11-17)
Rob (MillerTime) [10/22/09 - 9/26/17 ]
Michael (mikeyopp) [7/1/09 - 10/2/09]

  • Jwalkerjr88: I once traded a full draft class 1-7, an additional 1st, 3 offensive flyer players for what player you might ask?
    May 28, 2024, 10:13:27 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: WR Jalen Reagor lmaaooo
    May 28, 2024, 10:14:04 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And won my first chip that same season. Reagor starting in the flex scoring 9 points
    May 28, 2024, 10:14:39 PM
  • jmntl82: How did the other team finish?
    May 28, 2024, 10:16:01 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: It was dallas. I think he missed the playoffs that year. Then used the draft picks on the 2021 class. Every pick was the 32nd pick (dont remembee what the other 1st became)
    May 28, 2024, 10:18:22 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Idk if anyone remembers the 2021 class but it was weak on offense outside or the top 10-15. I dont regret the deal just learned and move on. As long as you have assets, you can mold your build how you want. Picks are usually the most valuable asset because most gms want in on a draft.
    May 28, 2024, 10:19:34 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: The results of that draft class is here [link]
    May 28, 2024, 10:20:27 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: Every 32 overall pick dallas makes in each round came from that trade
    May 28, 2024, 10:20:54 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: The 2024 and 2025 classes look much more promising than that one lol
    May 28, 2024, 10:22:06 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: 2021 draft class was my worst class as a NFL Live gm. my 2022 and 2023 were better
    May 28, 2024, 10:32:52 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: I think it was the worst for most of us. It was a bad class overall. The top was amazing tho
    May 28, 2024, 10:42:05 PM
  • jimw: Etienne is amazing. He was near the top of that draft lol
    May 28, 2024, 11:18:42 PM

  • Daddy: ProFSL has to be established by having great product or at least different product. We had the same old members. "Get off my lawn" types wanting to run leagues that were identical to the others. If you want 100 of the same old guys never chatting and no guests on the site. We had how many years of that?
  • Daddy: If running a league is so hard, How can i run 6 of them? At the same time.
  • Daddy: No moderators, no leagues, no leagues no traffic, no traffic no staff, no staff no profsl.
  • Daddy: Its not as easy to find moderators. And if you are a moderator to come up with start up league concepts and do all that manual work. It takes a rare breed.
  • Daddy: LM is the most thankless and simultaneously the most selfless thing anyone can do in this space. Thats why people dont do it.
  • Daddy: So... Im training more of them. Powerhouse Baseball is an example of that. There are more leagues coming.
