This might be a futile suggestion but please try to vote based on what's best for the league instead of what's best for your team. The results here are non-binding, I'm just trying to gauge opinion on this. Please post your reason for voting either way.

I think just based on the responses to the waiver thread that most of you want the waiver system, but let's find out for sure.
If we don't use waivers the loophole still needs to be addressed to avoid controversy over it. I think we will have to agree to evaluate trades solely based on the players, cash and picks involved and ignore any outside accommodations. I know we can't avoid such accommodations being made behind the scenes but if they are the trading parties will have to make sure the trade is fair either way. I'd prefer to address it with waivers, what do you think?

I'll be in and out again all weekend and I'm taking Tuesday off too. So the transactions might pile up but don't worry I'll get em all processed on Wednesday. Have a great long weekend everyone!

Canadiens get: G Michael Leighton, $1.6m (2011-2012)
Kings get: D Nathan Beaulieu, $m (P-2011) F Olivier Archambault, $m (P-2011) 1M Cash
veto because of your profile picture...
just kidding
I accept.
Thats a lot to give for a Goalie that probably will play the entire year in the AHL. PHI has Bryz and Bob, Leighton wont get a sniff all year IMO, so a good prospect, another prospect AND a million cash is pretty high price for nothing
I agree with Bean and I veto.
You veto guys aren't seeing the big picture. The Habs gave up 1m in cash and took on 1.6m, but the brewcrew bid on Gomez so half of his 7.4m would come off the books for the Habs if I'm not mistaken. A little back door dealing never hurt nobody.
I've gotta agree with Corey here. Like it or not that bid on Gomez is part of this deal. I'm inclined to approve but with 2 vetoes I'm going to send this to the ProFSL TC for approval.
Prior to this deal the Canadiens released Scott Gomez and will owe him $7.4 for 3 years. Per DNHL rules if a released player is picked up by another team, the releasing team receives a 50% reduction to the players cap hit. The owner of the Kings has put a bid on Gomez, so, behind the scenes here the Canadiens are receiving $3.7m in cap relief.
