Giants - Twins Trade II

Here is the second deal I have agreed upon with 28 (Twins GM)

Giants receive:

SP Adam Wainwright $4.0m (2011)

for

SP Cain, Matt, $2.5m (2011)
MI Counsell, Craig, $1m (2011)
1-15 SF

It was hard to give up my first round pick and Cain in the same deal but I believe Wainwright is a top tier pitcher.  He has a good contract and there is no guarantee my first round pick will pan out.  I think its a solid deal for both teams as the Twins get a capable starter in return, a good first round value and infield depth.

However, I think the Giants got the upper hand.  Who knows how that 1st rounder works out, but both Cain and Wainwright are looking for big pay days in 2012 (Cain the bigger one), so it's not like the Twins bring in a pitcher locked into a cheap deal through 2012/2013.
