Blue jacket Buyouts
« on: April 10, 2023, 03:34:20 AM »
I may have missed the deadline.  If so, be so be it.  I meant to post earlier, but that's on me.

Buyouts is still possible
Suter 3.4 2023
Aston Reese 1.8 2023
Drop Kessel 1.8 buyout in full
Drop Hamonic

Buyouts still allowed.

I dropped Kessel and applied the entire buyout this year.  Can you clarify what you want to do with Aston-Reese and Suter?  It looks like you have $5.9m left - not enough to buy out either of them all this year.

Awesome!  For some reason I thought it was a one week matchup.

I am just looking to buyout next season on both.  Should be as follows:

Suter buyout for 23-24 only: 3.4m
Aston-Reese buyout for 23-24 only: 1.8m
Total should be 5.1m

If you see something I am doing wrong, please let me know.

Here's the money left on each:

Suter
2022/23 - $3.3m
2023/24 - $3.3m
2024/25 - $3.3m

Aston-Reese
2022/23 - $1.782m
2023/24 - $1.782m
2024/25 - $1.782m
2025/26 - $1.782m

So, are you looking to pay the final year of each with NEXT years money?  Do you want to pay anything on these contracts THIS year?

Sorry, I'm not being clear.  Yes, I want to pay 23/24 with this year's money. 24/25 & beyond will still be owed.

When done, it should look like this:

Suter
2022/23 &  2023/24 - $6.6m pd in 22
2024/25 - $3.3m - still owed

Aston-Reese
2022/23 & 2023/24 - $3.5m pd in 22
2024/25 - $1.782m - still owed
2025/26 - $1.782m - still owed

I don't have a way to do this cleanly.  Fantrax won't let me skip a year on the cap hits.  Could we do it like this, instead, for the sake of tidy administration?

Suter
2022/23 - $6.6m
2023/24 - $1.65m
2024/25 - $1.65m

Aston-Reese
2022/23 - $3.564m
2023/24 - $1.188m
2024/25 - $1.188m
2025/26 - $1.188m

I'll abide whatever rules you set here.  If what I am trying to do is not allowed, I'll play within whatever rules are in place to govern these transactions.   I was just assuming that since I didn't see anything disallowing it that it could be done and handled the way Vik and I did the cap hit for Duomolin in our trade. I guess I thought these kind of situations was why you had this post: https://www.fantrax.com/forums/general/messages/3l0jwtycl2yq26in/2bqs8bbsl65ql71o/1

I am not trying to upset the apple cart. I'm just trying to clear more cap space as next year is going to be tight.

So if that is what I need to do, then yes, I guess that will have to do.

It's not violating any rules.  It's just the first time I've had a request to do it this way.  Those cap hits in that forum post are trade exchanges that I'm accustomed to entering manually.

Let me think on it and check with @snugerud to see if maybe there's a way to do this on Fantrax.

There probably isnt an easy automated way to do it.  the cap hit system on fantrax is pretty set in stone.  You would need to make notations somewhere to whatever you need to change each season.

I would think your best solution is lump in what you can for this season and spread out the remaining on the years following.  Then next season if you want to lump them in again do then.  A lot changes in a season.

I posted a new buyout thread with additional players and included these as well, with the corrections as requested.  Thanks!

  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • Brent: Yeah, it does help to have a big draft class and available cap.
  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.
  • Brent: postured
  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

  • Jwalkerjr88: Its the combination of all three that is required is what im saying
    Today at 03:13:31 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide
    Today at 03:14:39 PM
  • Jwalkerjr88: *your

  • BayAreaBallers: very good pt yes i did gain lot of capital which propelled me to make more moves from that trade
    Today at 03:34:25 PM
  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
