I think there was a mix up or the Claimable Waivers rule is misunderstood

D) Claimable Waivers
Players with more than 1 year left on their contract can be put on claimable waivers. Claimable waivers will last 24 hours and can only be done twice a year per team. If a player is claimed by a team, the team takes on their full contract and salary. If the player is unclaimed they return to their team at same contract and salary. Transactions will occur in the Waivers folder and topic should look as follows:
Sidney Crosby - Claimable Waiver
- please also change the message icon to reflect the team putting the player on claimable waivers

Good catch Tony, my bad should have double checked.

Since I don't have much else of an option please release Khubobin (as IR replacment for Mrazek I believe he can be dropped for free)

Given the error on my end kept Mrazek on bench today to be fair until this is cleaned up.

technically Khubobin was signed on a 2 year contract. (Not an IR Contract).

So in the rules, it doesn't specifically say if there's a year limit on IR replacement contracts, but I think common sense would say that having an IR replacement on a 2-year contract doesn't make sense.

I also think you wouldn't have signed Anton had you known he couldn't have been sent to the minors or had to pay to release him.

I'm not 100% sure what the best plan of attack is here. I'm open to hearing everyone's sides to this.

Yes, honest mistake on my end, didnt pay attention to rules and always intended to move Anton down to minors (or lose him via waivers), post Mrazek returning. I also assumed Mrazek would miss more time and would probably need 3rd goalie for a bit longer.

I got no issue only 1 year contracts as IR replacement. In other league we allow multi year signing on replacments - then either make cap space or drop for free. Each league is different though so either way is cool with me.

As for this situation, I would appreciate if possible to release for free. If not only option I can think of is to pay buyout, but would have to be next year with my cap. Obviously don't like 2nd option but it's my fault so fine with whatever decision is.

Due to it not being explicitly said in the rules. I'm proposing retroactively voiding Anton's contract and adjusting your scoring as if you never had him. He won't be replaced in your lineup by another goalie, just a loss of points.

I feel like this is fair, undoing it as if it never happened.

:iatp: Didn't think of this but very fair decision.

Turns out I only got 1.5 points from him anyway (on October 27th).

Thanks for understanding and I will ensure this sort of mix up doesn't happen in the future.

  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
