Knowing I won’t be competitive next year, means guys like Wilkerson and Smith who can be great role players, are more valuable to me as trade pieces. So I sell both of them, as well as Sisco, who I still believe will be a very solid Catcher. I love the potential of Mercado as well as the high upside of the group of minor league players I grab.

Mercado by himself is worth more than what's coming back to Tampa imo.
Trading Mercado with a zillion prospects and retaining players like Bruce, Arrieta, Santana, even Gurriel, just makes little sense to me.

It's the Mercado's of the world you've got to learn how to retain imo Brian.

I hate that you continue to gut these young assets and retain the old ass ones.
