Franchise NHL / Re: Expansion Draft - Real Life
« on: November 14, 2020, 08:33:50 PM »
I'd think Neiderreter would be the better option off the Canes roster. Cool post Jonathan!

I'll have to see what the Bruins are going to do.

For what it's worth, here's a TMZ article about how Aaron Rodgers is questioning the NFL's COVID-protocols saying some seem to be for "optics". Oooooooooo! Veterans!

The NHL should likely organize northern US teams and prepare them to play the Cdn teams. Then the other US based teams should split into 2 divisions and play one another.

Playoffs would be

US South/East/West Conference VS US North/Cdn Conference

Keep it as regional as possible until the playoffs.
It'll be a one off re-alignment either way.
That's my 2 cents.
Nahhh. That sucks newbie! Go back where you came from. jk
I think that makes good sense. Of course travel for the US S-E-W teams would be tough but it'd all be about how they get realigned. South East vs South West. Should be enough teams to pull that off.

I think the NHL has a good plan. Mini tourney format could work. Perhaps a mini break before moving onto the next Hub/bubble for another 10-12 days.
Clearly with restrictions still in place between US & Canada, my guess is that Canadian teams will be asked to take long road trips in the states to complete play against US based teams.

The NFL has been somewhat reckless but that's my POV but when your league and sport is swimming in $$$, you don't have to give a F! Am I right.

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Re: cats + kings trade

:iatp: Looks like PR tossed the sink at LA. So great trade for Kings during a true rebuild but not as good a package for a contending team obviously.

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL History - Stories
« on: September 25, 2020, 10:02:57 PM »
The history of FNHL was straight up sad. I think the veterans left are PR, myself, Jonathan and DickieDunn. PPG is a relative newbie from 2012. lol

If memory serves, I think Jonathan pulled a nice signing from under the nose of the original commish Joe and snagged Ben Bishop. Jonathan, correct me if I'm wrong. That got Joe all crazy when he finally checked in and noticed someone had read the rules about MiLR players exceed the games played rule AT THAT TIME they were automatically FAs and fair game for anyone to sign.

We've even had drama with the likes of Drew, SlackJack and Daddy. I think Drew was one of the funnier stories. Bottomline, I think he was a university student from the smell of things. Then he graduated and had to live in the real world and suddenly didn't have time to juggle free time fantasy leagues.

All part of FNHL folklore.

Franchise NHL / Re: FNHL VOTE: 2021-22 CAP 5% DECREASE?
« on: September 25, 2020, 09:49:41 PM »
I looked around the league and was surprised to see there could be at least one team with close to or over $40 Million in cap space and possibly 5 teams with close to $20 Million!

What surprises me is that the team with nearly $40M :COL-NHL: Avalanche have $9.2 Million freed up right now and $33.4 Million in buy out cap hits but if I read the rules properly, it is possible for all of the buy out cap to be erased if say the bought out player gets signed in Free Agency. Is that correct?
:puke: WTffffffffff. Ave are the Tesla of FNHL. At least for this FA period.

Didn't even notice Antman was clearing that much cap for rollover. Time to keep an eye on the Colorado-ers!
