Los Angeles Angels History :LAA:

2020: 2nd in Western Division (42-18)
The :LAA: did their best to return to the playoffs to defend their title, but came up short.  In a season where the top six teams made the playoffs, the :LAA: finished 8th.  The :LAA: roster is still very strong, although it appears they will lose Joey Votto to free agency.  The future looks bright for the Halos.

2019: 1st in AL West (131-31)
The :LAA: had a tremendous season.  The :LAA: GM, game 162, was true to his name as he assembled a roster that was dominate.  Strong hitters and strong arms led to an AL West Division title.  In the playoffs, the :LAA: had an easy time with the :CHW: in the ALDS.  In the ALCS, the :LAA: met the :SEA:, who had defeated the #1 seed :TB:.  The weeklong matchup was close, but the :LAA: came out on top to represent the AL in the World Series.  In the World Series, the opponent was the overall #1 seed :PHI:.  The Halos were to much for the team from the City of Brotherly Love.  The :LAA: were firing on all cylinders and dominated the :PHI: to earn the  :win: as the 2019 FGM Champions.

2018: 3rd in AL West (100-62)
There was a bit of a slip for the :LAA: in 2018, but it was still a 100 win season.  The :LAA: were very competitive throughout the season and their roster seems to be solid for a good run in the future.

2017: 2nd in AL West (110-52)
It’s always to great to see a team achieve a level of success after years of toil.  2017 saw the :LAA: make the playoffs as a Wild Card team.  As the AL #4 Seed, the :LAA: had a hot Wild Card week and defeated the :CHW: rather handily.  The ALDS was a different story, however, as the :LAA: met the #1 Seed :BAL: and were sent home.  Overall, the season was a success and signals good things to come for the :LAA:.

2016: 4th in AL West (64-92)
The :LAA: experienced a 50 game win increase during 2016 and climbed into 4th place in the AL West.  An infusion of veterans, along with the success of SPs like Noah Syndergaard, Carlos Rodon, and Chris Archer, made future success seem more realistic.

2015: 5th in AL West (14-76)
The :LAA: continued their commitment of stocking the roster with bonafide prospects.  Going through such a process can be painful because the victories are few and far between.  But having the patience to get talented players like Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. is proof positive that the :LAA: is on the right track.  However, the road to success will be driven by a new GM in 2016 because Brent has decided to step away from fantasy play and leave our ProFSL community.  The new GM will be Jason S. (game162).

2014: 5th in AL West (9-132)
The rebuilding process continued as the team slipped to single digit in wins.  However, time will tell if the infusion of prospects pays dividends or extends mediocrity.

2013: 5th in AL West (31-110)
A new sheriff was hired as the :LAA: hired Brent to take over the fortunes of the team.  Although the team slipped in the standings, and lost 110 games, Brent initiated a roster purge, and committed to acquiring prospects and young players, to set in motion a total rebuilding plan.

2012: 4th in AL West (35-125)
The :LAA: finished 91 games out of first...which was the result of having a roster which was really devoid of talent.  Beyond SPs RA Dickey and Justin Masterson, the :LAA: didn’t really have any assets.  The road to a competitive level is very rocky as GM Dave Martin didn’t really have an impact on the overall success of the team.

2011: 3rd in AL West (65-97)
A failed FA venture, pricey cap moves, and inactive office going into the season led to Matt's dismissal at the beginning of the season.  The very next day, the team hired the long-sought after Dave Martin.  An experienced GM with a high depth contractual background.  Dave restructured the team, but still finished the season with over $40m/year going to Johan Santana and Vernon Wells leaving a lot of work to do as the Angels fell from the sky.  Los Angeles finished 3rd in the AL West but lost almost 100 games.

2010: 2nd in AL West (89-73)
It is hard to track what Jake did that year.  His team made many trades and was active in the free agent market.  He brought in Victor Martinez, Chipper Jones, Mark Buerhle, Javier Vazquez, and plenty of farm talent ready for the majors.  Jake resigned from his post in March to take on a new challenge with the Nationals.  The new GM Devin Brown sold the veteran pitchers and the entire farm to build his dream offense.  The scheme almost worked, but the Angels could never catch up to the A's in the AL West.  The team finished with a strong record but couldn't compete with the AL East runner-up in the wildcard race.  Devin retired at the end of the season.

2009: AL West Champs (92-70)
Jake took over a successful team and kept in the playoff chase.  Keeping with history, his team lost to the Red Sox in the ALDS (unlike the real Angels who beat the Red Sox in the ALDS that year).  He made several moves that sent young talent such as Brandon Wood and Jered Weaver packing.  The moves gave the team plenty of veterans that they dealt in a flurry of moves that off-season.

Management
Jason S. (game162) [12/4/15 - Present]
Brent (Brent) [1-28-13 - 12/4/15]
Dave Martin (Tarheels55) [4/6/11 - 1-28-13]
Matt Burkart (itsmb8) [10/4/10 - 4/5/11]
Devin Brown (Bronx Bombers) [3/25/10 - 9/29/10]
Jake Douglas (Jake) [7/1/09 - 3/18/10]
