FGM World Series Update

Wednesday, September 22nd

The scored 145.34 points tonight and were hurt by three rainouts, although one of their players will participate in a doubleheader on Thursday.  The scored 229.80 points and extended their lead to 1412 points.  At the moment, the has 3365.63 points to 1953.63 for .

On Thursday, the will be have to deal with off days for half of their available position players.  They will also have one SP going to the mound.  The will have a full lineup available and one SP.

It must be said, that the have been the beneficiaries of the exploits of players involved in hotly contested pennant races or Wild Card spots.  The MLB have been particularly hot down the stretch and they will finish up the week in Coors Field against the .  Every single position player on the FGM is involved in a playoff chase and it has certainly been a great boost.

FGM World Series Update - Thursday, September 23rd
 
The and basically held serve on Thursday, with the scoring 170.5 points and the scoring 149.97 points.  Things are looking bleak for the team from A Land of 1000 Lakes, as the increased their lead to 1432 points.  With the Series going into it?s final weekend, the appear to be in the driver?s seat, but their optimism remains guarded.

The have 6 SPs over the next three days and has 5.  Neither team has a particularly dominant staff, but does have two of its best SPs, Jose Berrios and Triston McKenzie going this weekend.  Stay tuned as this Series winds to its end.

FGM World Series Update - Friday, September 24th

With two days to go until the end of the Series, the continued to increase their lead over the and now lead by 1524.43 points.  With 6 players in their starting lineup, the FGM benefited from HRs by Brandon Crawford, Mike Yastrzemski, and Brandon Belt.  With only two days to go, the find themselves on the brink of their first championship as the entire team seems to have peaked at the right time.  Not much more to say at this point, except that the hitting points have been the deciding factor in this series.  The pitching points are about even, with having 813.53 and the having 774.62.  Almost to the end, with another update to be posted after tomorrow's games.

FGM World Series Update - Saturday, September 25th

The shaved 73 points off the lead, but their season will end on Sunday as they still trail by 1451 points.  The were again aided by a hometown player in Brandon Belt as he hit 2 HRs (136.32 points).  Tomorrow will be the final day of the season and the FGM World Series, so there will be one final update after the completion of all games for players on the and .

Current score is 4132.92 - 2681.02

FGM World Series Final Update

After 11 years in FGM, the finally climbed to the top of the mountain to become the 2021 Franchise GM Champions!

The final score was 4227.07 - 2704.63.

The jumped out to a 507 - 5 lead on the first day of the series and never looked back.  The hitters peaked at the right time of the season.  Lead by a lineup that featured Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Buster Posey, LaMonte Wade, Jr., Evan Longoria, and Mike Yaztremski, the FGM powered their way to a title. Joey Votto, J.P. Crawford and Mitch Haniger also played a prominent roles.  With the pitching being essentially even, it was the hitting that made the difference.

The had a magical run themselves.  Overcoming all the odds and advancing to the World Series by defeating the rather handily in the ALDS.  Then in the ALCS, on the last day, with the last possible batter, edged the American League?s #1 Seed by 9.9 points.  Anthony has done a fine job rebuilding the and has a young team that will only get better in the future.

I hope all of you enjoyed these updates.  It was kind of weird to write about my own team, but it sure is satisfying to be the 2021 FGM Champions!

Great run by Anthony too.  That loss was heartbreaking in the ALCS...I didn't fully recover until I realized how much of a butt kicking Ernie would've given me in the WS!
