Here we go again with the basic pieces from the original trade but instead of Mike Granlund we have substituted in Danny Kristo.

Ottawa Sends:
RW - Chris Neil, $2.0m (2012-2013)
D - Alexei Emelin, $0.2m (2012-2013)
MiLR player RW - Danny Kristo, N/C, (0 Games)

Florida Sends:
RW - Brian Gionta, $2.0m (2013-2014)
D - Andrei Markov, $1.8m (2013-2014)
D - Derek Smith, $0.2m (2012-2013)
4th Round (EDM)

Ottawa is looking forward to getting this re-worked trade approved by all the powers that be.
Thank you! :judge:

Franchise NHL / Re: Franchise NHL - Questions Section

I'm thoroughly enjoying the rebuilding process with my Ottawa Senators team. Unfortunately it seems 33% of the league is not into replying to PMs. Oh well! I will have to make do.

As I see it now my Senators will be key players in the Free Agent market this off-season and it will be interesting to see which players get released from their teams either because of inflated contract extensions that make little to no sense or because the player is too old.

Apparently this guy is worth a handsome reward. Please send me your offers and I will select the best deal to move this guy.

C - Mikael Granlund, N/C, (0 Games)

I'd like to see what this prospect is worth on the open market.
Thanks

Franchise NHL: Completed Transactions / Extension signing: Cam Barker
« on: February 07, 2012, 02:44:51 PM »
2011-2012 Rank 204 with 15.15 points extension value $0.6 Million
2010-2011 Rank 189 with 28.6 points extension value $0.8 Million

The Ottawa Senators sign Defenceman Cam Barker to a 2 year contract extension for $0.8 Million annually.

I've got my eye on prospects hitting the 40 game limit. Detroit are you signing him to a contract or do you want to move him?

You're a tough GM to reach.

Franchise NHL: Invalid Transactions / Re: Florida & Ottawa agree to a deal

Another thing it will not be the first time I acquire an injured player.

As a matter of fact, I acquired Latendresse from Drew's Wild before the holidays.
Then I added Cam Barker and Huselius from Columbus, both injured and both with a history but they will be dirty cheap contract extensions next year and are big reward type players.

So I'm moving Granlund. He's good but when does he help me? Around the same time Markov helps me? Which player will have an immediate impact when they play? I say Markov is the bigger risk reward guy and Markov's $1.8 Million salary looks much better than Granlund's $2.5 Million salary.

This deal helps my Senators when I expect my team to compete hard starting this off-season and Fall.

Again Ottawa is more than happy with this deal and to say it isn't a good deal is telling me I don't know hockey.

My Ottawa Senators are happy with this deal.

Looking just at Neil versus Gionta point totals over the past 3 seasons and their rank at Right Wing

Neil with a $2.0 Million salary averages 89.96 points per season
2010-11 = 102.75 (69th)
2009-10 = 119.75 (48th)
2008-09 = 47.4 (111th)

Gionta with a $2.0 Million salary averages 155.76 point per season
2010-11 = 170.35 (16th)
2009-10 = 141.15 (32nd)
2008-09 = 155.8 (25th)

That's Neil's 90pts versus Gionta's 156pts annually. What's not to like for my Senators acquiring Gionta? I feel Neil is being moved while his value is high and Gionta is being acquired while his perceived value is at its lowest.

  • Jwalkerjr88: @idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

  • Brent: Agreed.  I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ.  I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.

  • ldsjayhawk: That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so.  And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

  • Brent: I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild.  Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season.  I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

  • Jwalkerjr88: Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

  • Jwalkerjr88: And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide

  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
