2016 Draft 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 10th round picks

:NYM: deal late contract impact players to a team with higher ambitions than ourselves in order to get Dean Green who we love and draft picks for our future. :MIA-MLB: to confirm.  Thanks Nicole for the easy trade talks.

Well, as usual, the same person vetoing every deal he's not involved in personally. What else is new.

Aren't 'vetos' designed to prevent collusion between teams OR to prevent a newbie from being taken advantage of?

I see neither happeneing here. All trades have a 'winner' or a 'loser' and that is usually not truly known for several seasons. Our personal perceptions of what fair value means are subjective to our own opinions and are therefore, prejudiced.

Fair value is not what we hould be voting on, for those reasons.

The Mets are simply trading present value for future value. Nothing wrong with that at all. Miami is willing to trade future value for present production. Nothing wrong with that either.

Anyone who claims to know what the actual value of this trade will be down the road, is fooling themselves.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: Trade Committee
« on: August 03, 2015, 02:59:32 PM »
I feel trade committees invite disputes. The same people always making trade decisions, who also participate in trades themselves, opens the door for partisan voting.

Other than the draft, there is no other way to improve your team in this league, as there are really no free agents worth rostering.

Having a small group in control of what trade is fair or not, isn't good.

Willing to trade Int $$ plus prospects for depth, especially at SS, OF & SP.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Re: scoring-confused
« on: July 30, 2015, 10:39:35 PM »
I think the scoring for pitchers could use some work. I know we can't change anything until at least 2016 at the earliest but the negative points in particular dont make sense for pitchers.

Example from a couple of days ago....

Shoemaker gives up 5ER on 7 hits, 3Bb, 2K in 3 innings
De la Rosa gives up 7ER on 9 hits, 1BB, 3K in 2 innings

Looking at the lines they seem close with De La Rosa a little worse giving up 2 more earned runs in one fewer inning.

Fantrax scoring?
Shoemaker  (-25.6)
De La Rosa (-5.6)

The difference was Shoemaker gave up 2 HRs while De La Rosa didnt give up a HR

The way the scoring is now a pitcher gets roughly the same negative score for giving up a solo HR as they do for giving up 4 runs on 5 consecutive doubles.

There should be less focus on HRs in the pitcher scoring, more on earned runs (which there is none)

The league prides itself on accuracy and realism but shoemaker didn't put his team in a much worse position to win than De La Rosa

I agree completely.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / New rule idea for 2016
« on: July 30, 2015, 10:02:40 PM »
I'd like to see a debate regarding rules for MLB rosters. I feel that every team should field a full roster of MLB players.

Having an MLB roster of minor leaguers is not in-line with reality.

There are no MLB teams which do not field a team of players on MLB contracts.

This league loves to refer to itself as being about replicating MLB.

As long as teams are allowed to have a roster of players who are not in the Majors, this league is NOT replicating major league baseball.

This "non rule" needs to be heavily revisited by the league.

The Reds would like to promote 3B Joey Gallo to ur major league team.

Just wanted you to know I'm always watching Chris. You do have a certain reputation, you know.

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Astros demotions to the minors
« on: June 09, 2015, 02:38:14 AM »
I noticed the Astros demoted 19 players to the minors a few days ago, but I couldn't find where they were exposed to waivers in any transactions folders.

Aren't all players in the majors exposed to waivers for 48 hours, before being assigned?

I'm sure our league doesn't have "options".

  • Daddy: My comment on the real Wolves are if they win a chip then there is no such things as bad contracts. The point of all contracts are to win Championships.

  • Daddy: The expansion draft is LIVE alternating picks until both teams have 15 players like the NBA All Star teams get picked.
