Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Completed Transactions / Marlins/Cardinals Trade« on: December 30, 2012, 06:35:11 PM »
This is not only a player trade but an organization trade as well. I will be taking over the Cardinals and nicole will be taking over the Marlins. We end up taking over our favorite franchises.
Marlins trade Josh Beckett P $15.75M 2013, $15.75M 2014 Chris Carpenter P $9.25M 2013 David Price P $4.35M 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015 Rod Barajas C $5.5M 2013 Victor Martinez C $13M 2013, $12M 2014 David Freese 3rd arb 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015 Rafael Furcal SS $3.5M 2013, $3.5M 2014, $3.5M 2015 Skip Schumaker 2nd/OF $2M 2013 Lance Berkman 1st $6.59M 2013, $6.59M 2014 Alan Craig 1st/OF 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Emilio Bonifacio OF arb 2013, arb 2014 Derek Eitel P AAA (wife's former neighbor-have to keep him) Joseph Panik SS A Jace Peterson 3rd A Alen Hanson 2nd DSL cash $10M 2013--$7.75M coming from Boston in Beckett deal (Marlins keep the $2M for 2014) Cardinals trade Cole Hamels P $18M 2013, $18M 2014, $18M 2015, $18M 2016 Burke Badenhop P arb 2013, arb 2014 Frank Francisco P $3.5M 2013 Jacob Turner P 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Bryan Anderson C 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Josh Thole C 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Zach Cox 3rd 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Mike Carp 1st/OF 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Andy Dirks OF 3rd yr 2013, arb 2014, arb 2015, arb 2016 Matt Dominguez 3rd/SS (AAA) Donovan Solano 2nd (AAA) projected starting 2nd for marlins Christian Yelich OF (AA) Without Arbitration salaries included, the Marlins are sending $49.94M worth of salaries (including the $10M, without the cash it is $59.94M) for 2013 to the Cardinals which in turn is sending $21.5M in salaries to the Marlins. This trade will save the Marlins $28.35M for 2013 and $19.84M in 2014. These three were mainly salary dumps. Berkman and Barajas playing this year?? Josh Beckett P $15.75M 2013, $15.75M 2014 Rod Barajas C $5.5M 2013 Lance Berkman 1st $6.59M 2013, $6.59M 2014 While I could not get all the players I wanted to take with me (Kipnis, at the major league level and Cingrini, Mathess, Spangenburg, and many others--last year was such a great draft) I do feel with taking the salaries on, countering with the players leaving and the exchange in prospects that the trade is fair. I get to take over my favorite MLB team and bring back the Cardinals I either traded for or signed as Free Agents. The Marlins get their prospects back and get to take over their team with their players they wanted. |
