I have been looking to trade Merrifield for a great CI under contract for years. I have plenty of depth at MI. I had a hole at CI and I fill this as Suarez is able to step in immediately. There are also a few contracts that I wanted to trade such as Schleber and Chacin. Tough to give up Keller, but I feel like its worth it for the pieces I am receiving. Thanks Anthony for the trade!

CI Desmond, Ian, $5m (2020)  *Oakland will pay 1.5m of Desmond's contract in 2019

Seattle trades:
CI Zimmerman, Ryan, $3.5m (2021)   

Desmond has a CI/OF eligibility, which helps me in depth in both positions. This deal was a matter of preference. Thanks thecliff for the quick and easy talks

  • Brent: Thank you.  Yes, I agree.  I do need to break one asset down to 3.  I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers.  Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that.  I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
