Giants trade:
MI-OF Hampson, Garrett, $0.5m (P-2022)

Orioles trade:
SP Cobb, Alex, $5m (2022)

With limited SP options in our upcoming free agents pool, and with 28 other teams competing for those SPs, the Giants decided to take a flyer on Alex Cobb.  His $5.0m contract is more team friendly than the anticipated contracts of the prospective free agents and he can be extended for less under our 70% rule.  Just like the MLB Giants, the FGM Giants are hoping Cobb builds upon his productive 2021 season.  Losing Hampson hurts the Giants depth, but with greater pitching needs, the Giants needed to add another SP.

As always, it never hurts to add another MLB Giants player to the FGM Giants roster.

I like Hampson better long-term and he should cost about the same amount to extend. Plus I need some depth for my middle infield.
