Oakland Athletics
2020:
Western Division 7th Place (23-37)
The short season did not go well for the A’s. The A’s finished 7th in the Western Division and 18th overall. The A’s have an assortment of layers with expiring contracts and the GM will have to make some key personnel decisions.
2019:
AL West 4th Place (83-79)
The A’s floundered a bit as the team was beset by injuries and under performance. Although finishing 4 games over .500, the A’s need to acquire some help to fill gaps in its lineup and rotation.
2018:
AL West 2nd Place (116-46)
The A’s had a strong season. The A’s qualified for the playoffs as a Wild Card team. They upset the Orioles in the Wild Card round and advanced to the ALDS. In the ALDS, the A’s continued their winning ways and defeated the Mariners. The A’s Cinderella season ended in the ALCS when the Tampa Bay Rays defeated them by a mere 78 points.
2017:
AL West 3rd Place (101-61)
Under new leadership of TheCliff, the A’s had a winning record, but failed to make the playoffs.
2016:
AL West Champs (108-47)
The A’s were eliminated in the 2nd Round of the playoffs by the World Series runner-up Chicago White Sox.
2015:
FGM World Series Champion
(83-8)
After dominating the AL West again, the A’s finally made it to the promised land. The MillerTime Oakland A’s defeated the Philadelphia Phillies to win the FGM World Series.
2014:
AL West Champs (121-20)
The A’s once again ran away with the AL West, but unfortunately, we’re eliminated in the 2nd Round by the eventual league champion, the New York Yankees.
2013:
AL West Champs (127-24)
Led by some heavy lumber of Buster Posey, Robinson Cano, and Andrew McKutchen, the A’s won the AL West, but lost in the 1st Round of the playoffs.
2012:
AL West Champs (123-34)
Oakland had another great year, culminating in being crowned FGM's 2012 World Series Champions! The A's pitching staff was led by Zach Greinke and Jordan Zimmerman, while their everyday lineup featured Robinson Cano, Andrew McCutchen, and Carlos Quinten.
2011:
AL West Champs (103-59)
Oakland dominated the entire year and runner-up Texas wasn't in reach. The A's, having their best record since the days of Billy Beane, led the American League. The team's offense was led by three premier all-stars in 2B Robinson Cano, 1B Mark Teixeira, and CF Andrew McCutchen. Oakland played Toronto in the ALDS, the same opponent from 2010, but the Blue Jays took revenge as the bats in Oakland went quiet.
2010:
AL West Champs (95-67)
New GM Rob overhauled the roster by not signing the players his predecessor traded for, and then swapped the first seven rounds of the 2010 draft (and some players) for Aramis Ramirez, Kendry Morales, Yunel Escobar, Stephen Drew, Cameron Maybin, Justin Smoak, Josh Johnson, and Francisco Liriano. Nearly the entire team changed. The only original A from 2009 on the offense was Kurt Suzuki and the only starting pitcher was Brett Anderson. Rob did an amazing job over that offseason as the A's soared to the top of the AL West standings and never looked back. They were atop the AL West all year long, won the division, beat the Blue Jays in the ALDS and then lost to the Yankees in the ALCS.
2009:
2nd in AL West (81-81)
The A's tried to make a push for the playoffs but were far off from the wildcard and could not catch the Angels. Original management, headed up by Michael, made some trades in 2009 for Jered Weaver, Kelvim Escobar, and some Yankee prospects.

@idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

Agreed. I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ. I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.

That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so. And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild. Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season. I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

And brent a tear down with you assets would look interesting. Personally i just think you need break one big asset down into 3 good ones and move carr and go from there. But you have an A1 nfl mind so im sure you will nail whatever it is you decide

Thank you. Yes, I agree. I do need to break one asset down to 3. I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers. Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that. I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
