Travis Snider is a prospect, so his salary is $0.5m but he will receive a $2.5m bonus from the Detroit Tigers in 2009. You must release a player to make room for Snider.

Player may fall under a prospect contract, so the prospect salary is considered $0.5m with a $1m bonus paid in 2009. I am setting it up this way because I continue all salaries year-to-year. Therefore, when we move to 2010, the salary will remain unchanged at $0.5m, but the bonus of $1m will disappear in my database.

Wood is arguably my best prospect (though not technically one). I won't put both Kendrick and Wood in for Uggla given Kendrick's flashes of decency the last two years and Wood's future ability. Currently at work, I'll respond to offers, but won't make any until I get off here in a couple hours.
I know Wood is the best prospect, and I wouldn't even take Kendrick off your hands if that was the case. I could give you Uggla and Morgan (who could help your hurt outfield big time) for Wood.

Since these players are technically free agents in our league, are they still under prospect contracts? What about if I were to sign Sonnanstine, how would that work? I'm pretty sure he's under his prospect contract but has accrued major league time, that would count against my contract time?
Sonnanstine is on the Rays official roster. I have fixed his status in Fantrax. However, to answer your question, a player like Andy is a prospect through the 2010 season.
