-The Gordie Howe Award (most active on the board)
GDB continues to crank out his always entertaining write-ups -- he has my vote.
-The Ken Holland Award (most outstanding GM)
Shooter's roster is the one I envy most. He's built a monster and I don't think it's going away any time soon. My thoughts are similar to Rob's ... in a perverse way it's like Shooter has to out-do the high expectations created by his own consistent excellence in order to get the award(s) his performance already earned.
-The Wayne Gretzky Award (team w/ best centers)
Anaheim is in the conversation, but I can't look past a Flyers group of Malkin, Stamkos, Couture and Pavelski.
-The Brendan Shanahan Award (team w/ best left wings)
I really struggle with the one. It's tough to not hand it to the Oilers for Hall and Giroux, but Snug's depth is throwing a lot of quality Games Played at you ... I'll go with depth over top-end stars here.
-The Jaromir Jagr Award (team w/ best right wings)
Tarasenko, Zucker and Voracek win it for the Blues. The Canucks, Avs and Oilers are in the conversation.
-The Bobby Orr Award (team w/ best defensemen)
Carolina's top six edge out the Blues' group.
-The Dominik Hasek Award (team w/ best goalies)
If my guys could stay healthy, I might have voted for myself, but it's not to be. I like the Blues' set of 3 over the Oilers' pair.
-The Bad Juju Award (most unluckiest team)
With any kind of match-up luck the Caps points-for total would have put them in the playoffs, not in 13th with a .500 record.
