i put up a poll on the salary.   for those that don't know how I work this can make some people really mad at me.   but if I get x amount of votes to pt 3 and x amount of votes to .4 then I round all the votes to the highest number.   I make every vote count so to speak.   If the balance of the league wanted a higher salary then I try to weigh it all.   Thanks

obviously this is something I personally want to do.   As a commissioner it takes me about 15 hours to go through rosters and figure arbitration and service years.    That is a little silly to me.    I would like to make all players one through six a standard fee.    I naturally thought of .600 because that seemed like a good number.   Now these players naturaly would have contract years but you would know in advance instead of waiting year to year to see what you have to spend and what players cost.

but .4, .5, or .6 are good numbers.   If 51 percent of the league agrees with the notion of the doing away with arbitration we can put the salary for those players up to a vote.

Thanks in advance

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / ABL rosters now on Google doc
« on: December 31, 2013, 07:30:49 PM »
Hello everyone,

I wanted to make everyone aware that our rosters have moved to google docs.   This will allow us to better track payroll.   I am also asking that if anyone has more experience than I with the google docs that would like to help me continue to improve the spreadsheet please let me know.   I just need your email address.

you will notice that up top next to league rules on the right corner is a link to the sheets.   I am also sharing the link in case for any reason you don't see it.   Thanks

Jon

Armchair Fantasy Baseball: Archives / Amateur Draft
« on: August 21, 2013, 07:58:19 PM »
ABL will have an annual 5 round Amateur Entry Draft.  This draft will likely be done in the first week of November.  No players may be selected who have not signed a MLB contract.  Also newly drafted players in the MLB draft are not eligible via free agency until after our entry draft is complete.

Commissioner will post a list of avialable players to be selected and only those players can be selected.

Trading Draft Picks
Trading of draft picks is allowed however as soon as the draft starts there is no more trading of draft picks.

How Draft Will Be Conducted
If a team is not present for the draft / times out, and did not provide a proxy pick, they'll be awarded the next highest ranked player that they can afford, and then placed on auto-draft.
The players ranking list is of the same order of Baseball America followed by the actual draft order.
The Entry Draft will only have players who are eligible for the real life MLB Entry Draft.

Draft Order
Draft order will be based off of record.  The worst team by record gets the first pick all the way to the top team getting the last pick.  Tiebreakers will be determined by last years record.  If two teams have identical records the previous years record will be looked at and the team with the worse record will have higher priority.
