No need to apologize. 166

Amazing on this site you get numerous comments on a one sentence post but it takes a week to get a trade approved.
First of all, I am not frustrated. Just made a simple request. Secondly, did not get the memo about new commish (unless I missed it in my PMs which is possible) and with such a change, a league PM would be nice. Thirdly, Unfortunately I can't ready every post daily as I compete, commission and contribute to nearly 70 leagues on and off this site. So I apologize that I didn't see the NEW COMMISH POST. And lastly, yes I know I can keep up with my own team on Excel spreadsheet (see sentence above) but I don't have time to track all 70 of my teams and those offering me the trades wouldn't see it either. Also I do understand the complicated process of managing team finances that comes with spreadsheets as I deal with it daily. I am patient and was not rushing anyone. And I think Ernie knows that. Was just a simple request without knowledge someone had jumped ship and a new captain had taken over the wheel. So those implying I was rushing the new commish, be assured that I wasn't. Thanks Andy 167

Franchise GM: Completed Transactions / Twins/Rays Trade« on: December 06, 2014, 06:28:25 PM »
sends
C Martin, Russell, $4m (2017) OF Roache, Victor, $0.5m (P-n/a) RP Herrera, Kelvin, $0.5m (2015) SP Turner, Jacob, $1.5m (2015) sends CI Vargas, Kenny, $0.5m (P-n/a) OF Kiermaier, Kevin, $0.5m (P-n/a) OF Bonifacio, Jorge, $0.5m (P-n/a) We trade Martin Russell who's power numbers have declined dramatically each of the past 2 years and now has moved to another team in Toronto. The move will put us in the market for a replacement. We also give up on Jacob Turner and his 6.13 ERA last year. He has only posted an ERA under 4.00 once in his career. Kelvin Herrera had a nice 2014 but we felt he was not part of our future. We also send OF prospect Victor Roache who had issues at the plate this season with to many strikeouts. In return, we get 3 young players we really like. Vargas HR per AB ratio was better than Freddie Freeman and even Miggy last year. Bonifacio who should get a shot at some playing time for the Royals this season. And Kiermaier, who may not get as much playing time this season, with a healthy Will Meyer back in the OF, but we think his future is very bright. The trade also frees up $6M in cap space for us 169

With Reyes, Segura and Russell on our roster we felt comfortable in moving Simmons.
Holt provides us flexibility at positions where we are lacking depth. Elias provides us some more help with a pitching staff that is lacking in quality. Ahmed is an extra body to just give us more depth. 170

We take a bit of a cap hit with this trade. Even though we are already strapped by the cap we have some other deals in play to hep with that issue. We move Brantley for one of the better young arms in baseball. At 25 years of age, Gray as established himself as a top of the rotation pitcher.
Sardinas put up nice numbers in his major league debut in 2014. Hitting for .261, he proved he can pay at the next level. Santana struggled in his major league debut going 0 for 17. However, we still feel he has what it takes to make it to the show as a full-time player. during his time in the minors he has average a HR every 24 at bats. |
