C Ramos, Wilson, $2m (2017)     
MI Panik, Joe, $0.5m (P-2017)

Giants trade:
OF Eaton, Adam, $5m (2021)
MI Simmons, Andrelton, $4m (2018)

The Giants have longed coveted the services of their own MI Joe Panik, and now, after a variety of negotiations, he comes home.  Sometimes, as fantasy owners, we gamble with our heart and that's what's happening here.  The Giants are looking to have Panik regain his stride now that he is healthy.  Health is also a concern in trading for C Wilson Ramos.  Having a player who is coming back from a knee injury is risky, but with his contract, and considering the team he signed with, it's worth taking a chance.  Panik for Simmons is a no-brainer, and giving up Eaton will leave a need in the Giants OF, but this trade frees up an additional $6.5m for free agency to find a decent replacement.

Always an adventure to negotiate with papps, but we got it done!

Philly agrees.  We deal from our weakest need to bolster our least need but Eaton was hard to pass up.  Panik has struggled to stay healthy but I still feel he is a solid player on a good contract.  I like Ramos and I think he will do well in TB but I like Eaton a lot.  Eaton has a great contract and is in his prime.
