Franchise GM: Archives / Re: Past Draft Day Steals« on: December 06, 2013, 02:47:45 PM »
I know I'm not part of the league, but I always enjoy looking back at drafts. Outside the first rounders, I'd vote biggest steals:
2010: Jed Gyorko, Andrelton Simmons, and Addison Reed all look like really solid value 2011: Tony Cingrani went pretty late for how good he's already looked. 2012: Lucas Sims, Alex Wood, Rio Ruiz look like pretty good value. Not too many stand out to me yet outside the top 60ish 533

Hi, I'd like to put my name in the hat for consideration for the Cubs GM job. I've played fantasy baseball for about 15 years now. I'm new to ProFSL and FGM, but have managed in leagues on all sorts of other sites/forums. I spend far too much time online so am very active and always checking boards and looking for ways to improve my team.
A bit about how I like to manage.... The Cubs roster looks like it should be a fun one to take over if that works out. The previous GM has built up and extended a solid core to build around with Strasburg, Cain, Darvish, McCann, a decent prospect group, etc. So there's some great assets to work with. I like a little more flexibility in my teams though, so would likely be looking to move a few of the other larger contracts (Bay, Ramirez, Phillips, a few guys like that) in favor of more balance and depth. I'm always looking to build a balanced roster and prospect team believing contributions from unknown guys, prospects, and solid-not-star guys are just as key as those 5-7 studs a winning team needs. I spend a lot of time browsing other teams rosters trying to find trades that fit both teams, and am always willing to listen to offers and negotiate if there's value for both sides. Bit long winded.... but wanted to give ya bit of background since I don't have a history on this site yet. Thanks for the consideration. -Jon 534
Franchise GM / Re: Official Waiting List« on: December 03, 2013, 06:59:46 PM »
I'd like to add my name to the wait list. First time joining ProFSL, but have played on other dynasty/franchise baseball leagues on other boards/leagues/fantrax. Would like to take over Cubs if they're available, but if not any open team would be cool. I'm always an active manager logging in multiple times a day. Thanks for the consideration.
