Yep trading is closed currently and will not be re-opened before the extension deadline passes.
Not sure that you are understanding what I am trying to clarify but I included some very specific examples in my original post.Contracts end on the 28th, therefore I should be able to release (for example) *Chris Mason, $1.1m (2012-13) on the 28th. This would not be a buy-out.If I have this wrong it could have a large impact on my roster.
So as per the rules only IR contracts expire, sorry that the deadlines aren't completely clear on that:IR Replacements and Contracts End - April 28th, 2013 @ 12:00pm - should state instead IR replacements and IR contracts end2012-13 contracts expire after the extension period is done. You can buyout these players if you wish but they can't be released free of cost until after that extension period is complete.Hopefully this clears it up more, sorry for confusion.
Thanks Drew, it clears it up now but I've overloaded my rosters on the wording that "contracts end". I'll look to see if I can buy my way out but I could be in trouble.
Looks like I'll be able to make room on the roster numbers but not on cap space. Timmonen will have to get sent down to the Nailers and there's just no way I can make the cap space work. Honestly thought his contract would be over and he'd be released.
2012-13 contracts will have no affect on projected cap space for 2013-14. If you need to create cap space for players and don't have room in your minors, just simply buyout some players that have contracts ending in 2012-13 to try and make the appropriate space.
I get it but there's no way I'll be able to create $6.3m in cap room for this year. That's what I'm trying to say, I think there'll be a problem. Regardless, you have explained that the deadlines should be worded more clearly and I appreciate that. We can deal with my predicted problems as they arise.
Will our Prospect Draft take place before or after the June 30th Draft in Jersey?
