M's approve, Fielder should be enough to win me the division. Nick and Ryan will add bench depth and the third round will help me rebuild. Dustins, Kyle, Chris, and Dillon are building blocks that will help the A's in a couple of years.

The A's are making this trade to shore up the future.  I did not like the fact that Fielder consumed most of the teams salary. Don't get me wrong if anyone deserved it, I believe it is Fielder.  The infield is now set for the forseeable future with Weeks, Ackley, Seager and Barney. Parmelee has some growing up into the majors to do and Gee gives the A's another dependable starter when he comes back next year (on the DL). This trade brings the payroll down and gets the A's younger.

On the flip side this gives the Mariners a powerful bat and fills in some holes in there lineup to make a run at Texas and win the pennent. They also pick up what should be a good 3rd round pick and we believe the cash necessary to keep them under the cap.
