Code of Conduct
Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. The member will be removed from the league at the discretion of the Commissioner?s Office.
Any conduct deemed unethical will be reviewed by the Commissioner?s Office. If the situation warrants it, the member committing the act in question will be banned from the League.
All GM?s are to respond to trade offers in a timely manner and participate in League discussions.
If there is a situation in which you will be away from computer access for a significant period of time, any period of more than a week's time, please notify the league or the Commish directly. If a manager is found to be inactive and unresponsive to messages he risks losing his spot in the league. The Commissioner, once made aware of such a type of inactivity, will send a message to the respective owner to determine proof of life. If there is no response to the proof of life message after a week's time, your spot in the league may be replaced at any time thereafter without notice.
Roster Lock
As of 12/27/2024 the RL rosters are locked in, this will be posted again in league sign up. (for example Burnes will be a FA, not in Arizona) If there is a big trade or signing from here on, our rosters will not be affected.
Salary Cap
We will operate with a $200M salary cap increasing every year by $3M, but the league office will review the cap on a yearly basis for any changes that might be necessary. Salary cap can be exceeded in future years, but can not be exceeded during the current season.
Contracts
Contract Limits
Contracts signed have to meet these guidelines:
Contracts with AAV < $1M: 1-2 year contract
Contracts with AAV >$1M <$10M: 1-4 year contract
Contracts with AAV >$10M or more:1 to 5 year contract
All major league contracts will be rounded to the nearest 10k.
Contract Extensions:
5 years is the max for any contract extension.
All extensions must be offered before the conclusion of Effectively Wild's World Series and can be offered at the beginning of the next year.
Extensions are based on the highest Fantrax ranking from the last two seasons. The extensions are based on RL AAV values that have been adjusted to fit our salary cap. The values will likely change year to year to match the RL values, but the table will be posted at the beginning of the league year, and won't change during the year it is posted.
Minor League Contracts:
We will be doing real time prospect scouting, any valid prospect bid posted transaction board will be immediately processed. No 24-hour waiting period will be needed. The prospect needs to be signed to a team and if they do not show on Fantrax assigned to a team, than a link needs to be posted from a reputable source that shows the signing is real.
Any player that has less than 130 at-bat's or 50 innings pitched, can be signed to a minor league contract. Once they meet those limits and are called up to an Effectively Wild major league roster, they will become arb eligible.
Arbitration scale: Arb 1-3 700k/750k/800k Arb 4-6 will be the RL AAV of the player's contract.
Free Agency Bidding:
All bids should be formatted with Position, Player Name, Team in the subject. The body should include the amount of $. Contract years don't have to be included in the bids until the bid has been won (leading for 24 hours).
No more than 10 leading bids at one time, prospect contracts are not included in that limit.
The opening free agency period will be a true free-for-all, all positions open to being bid on.
Free Agency bidding will be frozen at the start of the play-offs every year and will resume 48 hours after the conclusion of the draft.
International Free Agency

Every team will have a pool of $5M to use on international free agents. These funds can be traded up to 2 years in advance. The player has to have signed a contract and a link from a reputable source to the signing included in the post.
New Managers- Free Drop (After 1st Year of League Starting Up)
All New Managers, upon admission to the league, will have the option to "buy-out" one existing contract on their team. The manager must post the selected contract within one week of admission.
Contract Buy-out - Existing Managers
Contract for a player may be bought out at full guaranteed value, but can be paid in lump sum in 1 year or spread out at GM's discretion among remaining years, making them a FA.
Contract for an officially retired player may be bought out at 50% of its guaranteed value, but can be paid in a lump sum in 1 year or spread out at GM's discretion among remaining years.
Roster Sizes:
Major League- Max of 40 players - 26 active , 14 bench
Minor League - Max of 60 prospects - there is no forced promotions for players above at bats/innings pitched limits, but player's who are above those limits can not be sent down to minors.
First Year Player Draft
First year player draft will be conducted two weeks after conclusion of the RL World Series. There are three rounds each round will decrease in time allowed on the clock. The player has to have signed a contract to be eligible for selection.
Round 1: 24 hour clock
Round 2: 18 hour clock
Round 3: 12 hour clock
Clock will be paused from 10pm EST - 5am EST
Draft Order will be determined by lottery to be conducted by league office, with results posted for full transparency. All non-playoff teams will be eligible for draft lottery. Rest of draft order determined by play-off finish.
Free Agency will begin 48 hours after completion of the draft.
Trades
Any asset (IFA funds, players, draft picks) can be traded up to two years out. There will be no covering money on contracts in trades. There will be boards dedicated to tracking those asset movements. Trade deadline will be 48 hours after RL trade deadline. Some players increase in value after trades that get announced late so we will allow for late movement as well.
Off-Season League Change Proposals
We will post any and all polls during the off-season for league members to vote on, all changes will require 2/3 league approval to be passed. Any proposal that goes 2 weeks without being voted on will be assumed vetoed and removed.
