Official Q&A Thread

[shooter47]

We are now halfway through the draft and free agency is sort of close, so I was wondering if there was a maximum number of years we can sign a guy to?  Are we going to allow some DiPietro contracts of 15 years or have a max number?

contract rules can be found here   http://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=24544.0

Max length for a contract is 5 years.

Our maximum contract length is 5 years.  Since the yearly amounts are flat we have no need to spread money across multiple decades like they do in the NHL.  I think it's silly how that works and didn't want to replicate that mess!

so after the draft, do all the players that are still available go out to FA?  and would it just be a bidding war after that?

Yup!

Free Agency bidding?

If and when someone bids on Scott Gomez (a real steal), when would 50% of his salary be applied to my salary cap?

when can we start bidding on FA?

when can we start bidding on FA?

Soon.  I'm going to finish entering the draft today and get all the players added.  Then I'd like to give a little time for makeup picks.  I'm thinking Noon tomorrow FA bidding will open but I'll announce it officially once I wrap up the draft.   :toth:
