SP - Andrew Cashner ($500K - 2017)
RP - Vic Black (minors)

:TOR:  Receives:
SS - Andrleton Simmons ($480K - 2018)
P - Stolmy Pimental ($400K -2017)

The Blue Jays agree to this deal in order to shore up our middle infield situation.  Owings isn't fighting a job and Goins isn't a guarantee for anything.  Simmons plugs right in at SS and gives us more options at the MI spot.  Losing Cashner hurts, but starting pitching was a strength and I believe there's depth to overcome his loss.  Hopefully, Stolmy can nail down a bullpen spot to help offset the loss of Black.

ok, I was unaware of any previous offer since I just took the team over.  My reason for making this deal is that while I need both ML ready arms and bats I think the upside of Cashner is well above the upside of Simmons.  Black is currently ML ready and may get some opps to get svs this year already and is a future closer with high upside
