Chicago Cubs :CHC:

2021: 5th in Central Division (32-130)
This was the first season of the franchise switch between the :CHC: and the :HOU2:, and unfortunately, it did not go well.  The :CHC:won 32 games this season and finished 107 games behind the division winner.  The :CHC: went into the season knowing that Chris Sale would be out awhile so that was expected, but they didn't expect Eloy Jimenez to miss so much time (first game July 29th, FGM playoffs started August 23rd), Kyle Lewis to miss most of the season (ended up being trade in the Chapman deal), Cody Bellinger to earn negative FPG, John Means to be out for a while, etc.  Injuries and poor performance from one of their star players destroyed the :CHC: this season

2020: 1st in Central Division, FGM Champion (54-6)
The :CHC: were the #2 Seed entering the playoffs.  After a 1st Round bye, the :CHC: defeated their Windy City rivals, the :CHW:, in the 2nd Round.  In the World Series, the :CHC: were matched against the #1 Seed :COL:.  The :CHC: jumped out to an early lead and led wire to wire to emerge as the 2020 FGM Champion.

The Cubs roster will have a personnel transfer with the :HOU2: and the Cubs will be managed by Brent, the current :HOU2: GM.  The transfer was made possible by the mid-season announcement by the 2020 GM that he was departing at the end of the season.

2019: 2nd in NL Central (113-49)
The Cubs ended up making the playoffs as a Wild Card team.  The Cubs defeated the Giants in the Wild Card Round, but they fell to the Phillies in the NLDS.  The Cubs have a bright future because it has a strong rotation and some potent hitters.  The Cubs will have a new GM in 2020 with the announcement that the present GM will be leaving FGM during the off-season.

2018: 1st in NL Central (107-55)
The Cubs found themselves of another GM as nonsense decided to leave FGM at the conclusion of the 2017 playoffs.  Enter hockeygoon33, a GM who jumped in and led his team to an NL Central Division win.  As a division winner, the Cubs got to a bye as the Wild Card teams battled it out.  The bye was not a positive, however, as the Cubs were eliminated by the Colorado Rockies in the NLDS.

2017: 2nd in NL Central (109-53)
After winning a championship the previous season, jpmanchester decided to pursue other challenges and announced his resignation at mid-season.  After a week, a new GM, nonsense, took over the team and the Cubs qualified for the playoffs as a Wild Card team.  In the Wild Card Round, the Cubs defeated the Giants once again.  In the NLDS, the Cubs eliminated the Phillies in rather convincing fashion.  In the NLCS, the Cubs met defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

2016: FGM WS Champion :win: 1st in NL Central (129-28)
2016 was good to the Chicago Cubs.  Not only did they win the NL Central, they entered the playoffs as the #1 Seed.  In the NLDS, the Cubs dominated the Giants and advanced to the next round.  In the NLCS, the Cubs met a division rival in the St. Louis Cardinals.  The week-long matchup ended as the previous one did, a dominant Cubs victory.  After disposing of their NL foes, the Cubs advanced to the FGM World Series for a two week match against their Windy City rivals, the Chicago White Sox.  The Series was very competitive, and the difference between the two teams was a measly 60 points, with the Cubs being crowned as the FGM Champion.

2015: 1st in NL Central (74-16)
The Cubs climb to success continued as the Cubs entered the playoffs as the NL #4 Seed.  The #4 Cubs disposed of the #5 Giants in the Wildcard matchup and then upended the #1 seed Dodgers to advance to the Championship Series.  The NLCS was the end of the line for the Cubs as the Phillies prevailed.

2014: 2nd in NL Central (101-40)
The Cubs were under new management for the 2014 season.  Jpmanchester took over the team and the Cubs climbed to 2nd place in the NL Central and increased their win total.  But, alas, in the old format of having the last week of the regular season determine the Wild Card team, the Cubs came up short and missed the playoffs.

2013: 3rd in NL Central (97-44)
Even though the Cubs finished with the 6th best overall record, they did not qualify for the playoffs.  With a strong rotation, if the Cubs can add an impact bat or two, the future looks bright.

2012: 6th in NL Central (76-86)
A 13-game improvement and still a 6th place finish.  That is how tough the NL Central is and what the Cubs had to battle all season long.  Rookie of the year Mike Trout is the reason to watch the Cubs.  They also have other young stars and plenty of cash to infuse in other talent.  Watch out for the Cubs in the next couple years.

2011: 6th in NL Central (63-99)
The Cubs had one of the worst seasons in years, but it can be argued as one of their most successful.  In one season, former Angels GM Kdoc09 dealt away high priced veterans, acquired Strasburg, Chatwood and other young pitchers, and freed up over $95m in cap space for 2012.

2010: 5th in NL Central (80-82)
Many new faces were brought in by new Cubs GM, Mike Bridgestone.  It first appeared as if he was rebuilding the farm, but then he exchanged new prospects for more veterans.  By the time free agency came along, many of the expensive contracts inherited were gone, but key players acquired in such trades such as Jose Reyes, Brandon Phillips, and Chris Carpenter never stayed.  That was the price that had to be paid, but it enabled the Cubs to have a farm, compete with veterans, and spend in free agency come 2011.  The team finished just under 0.500 for what most would call a successful season for the Cubs.

Mike retired in the off-season due to time constraints and was immediately replaced by the one time Giants GM, Kris Doughery.  Kris' experience within the league should bode well for a team that is looking to add a few key pieces going into 2011.

2009: 5th in NL Central (73-89)
Tiny Tim did nothing to fix the hex that Jim Hendry put on the team with the overpaid veteran contracts.  Despite having an early lead in the standings, the team faltered just like the real life one did.

I dont say good deal bad deal or i like this side better.  My goal is to provide a fair platform where people are free to trade and not be judged because nobody knows for sure how these trades will play out. Lots of ACLs are gonna tear between now and new years.  Im always happy that two strangers with different backgrounds can meet in our league and enjoy freedom to be themselves and do what THEY THINK is best. I love every deal. (Had to share that @Braves) :toast:
