Texas Rangers History :TEX:

2020: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2019: 3rd in AL West (89-73)

2018: 4th in AL West (89-75)

2017: 4th in AL West (96-66)

2016: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2015: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2014: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2013: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2012: 2nd in AL West (91-71)

2011: 2nd in AL West (91-71)
Roy's Rangers improved greatly in 2011, but not to the level that everyone expected.  The AL West leading A's and the AL East teams ran ahead early in the season and a few bad weeks left Texas behind.  The team heads into 2012 with a solid roster, a veteran and knowledgeable GM, and plenty of salary cap.

2010: 3rd in AL West (79-83)
A tumultuous off-season led way to the Rangers seeing consistency with a new GM in Roy Cankosyan.  He managed to rebuild the farm (via +$8m in bonuses) after former GM, Tim Bieneck, left it in ruins.  A three-team deal in a matter of days with the Indians and Reds then gave the Rangers a new CF in Grady Sizemore.  The Rangers had a lot of promise but experienced injuries and inconsistent play in 2010 as they hovered around 0.500.

2009: 4th in AL West (78-84)
The Rangers were close to competing in 2009 just like the real team.  The team fell short by blowing the month of September away.  They actually had the lead over the Angels in the AL West until injuries and inexperience caught up to them.  By the end of the month, it was the the A's and Mariners who leaped ahead of them and gave the Angels a run for their money.

Management
Roy Cankosyan (rcankosy) [10/22/09 - ]
Shaun Perry (Hamilton_Prime) [8/13/09 - 9/11/09]
Tim Jorgensen (gadzookz) [7/1/09 - 8/13/09]

  • Brent: I don't know Hockey, but NHL Live sounds good.  I probably shouldn't have left FGM as I have a little more time than I thought after leaving a bunch of other leagues.

  • Daddy: Nobody on Earth does hockey like we are about to do it. Its a shame 28 teams are gone without most of the true profsl hockey guys signing up. That's a huge loss. For them.
    May 21, 2024, 10:54:45 PM
  • Daddy: If you love hockey and you love dynasty and you arent in LIVE than you must hate me or competition more than you love the others. Which is petty & not worth our efforts anyway.
    May 21, 2024, 10:56:10 PM
  • Daddy: NHL LIVE Spreadsheet [link] should be available to be seen.
    May 21, 2024, 11:35:31 PM
  • Daddy: @Brent we sincerely hope that you do join as a HOF level dynasty GM. The rules and a lot of format carry over from one LIVE league to another.
    May 21, 2024, 11:56:46 PM
  • Daddy: We believe that even if you don't know a sport well, we provide the material, and enough guidance advice that any disadvantages are minimized. Hockey is one of the greatest sports of all time.

  • Daddy: Ok. You know you can cut anyone you want and with FROZEN FRENZY as well as the draft we all have a ton of moves to make.
  • Daddy: Hockey players don't make what football, basketball, baseball players make. The cap is lower than other LIVE leagues.

  • STLBlues91: Yeah when we were filling rosters we just included everyone we could since they can be cut. I will be cutting a chunk of guys once we start up
    Yesterday at 06:14:45 PM
  • Daddy: Trading too. Not just cutting. Virgin teams need diversified. Ive seen owners swap half of they're starting players to get diversified.
