Personally I prefer the 48hr period but don't feel strongly either way.

I agree that checking in for 5 min each day isn't asking too much (especially when most owners probably have a smart phone), but at the same time I like the 48hr because there are times when things come up in life that prevent you from getting on for a day or two. I love baseball and this league and it seems lots of owners here feel that way, but I don't think it is the #1 priority in anyones life (at least I hope not).

I don't like the religious/holiday exception rule. We all have a lot going on both in AFB and life, I just think it makes more sense to have one all encompassing time limit and not have to think about whether I need wait longer because it's a tuesday day or something.

As far as making dumb bids goes, it sucks that it may drive a price up for a guy you want. But i view this the same way as many other transactions it's not up to the other owners in the league to protect one owner from their own stupidity.

Like I said I like the 48hr period but as an owner that is typically on daily or at least 6 days a week I have no issue with a 24hr rule if that's what other owners want.

I'm good either way but I'd lean towards keeping it at 48 hours. With my work schedule and real life responsibilities, sometimes I can log-on and bid several times a day but sometimes I have to push very hard just to do so once a day. It's great if others can log-on more frequently but it sounds like at least a few cannot.

From a league administration point of view, I think a 48 hour period is preferable over a 24 hr period because it allows for a larger pool of potential GM's to join the league. Since the beginning, I've had difficulties in keeping 30 people active here (actually tracking down a certain inactive GM now). Cutting down the time somebody can bid on a player can only exasperate the issue. In a perfect fantasy baseball world, everybody would log in daily, but alas this is not one. If we operate assuming it is one, we will end up with a wide disparity between the good teams and the poor teams and that will be very detrimental to this league.

I'm still listening, but there doesn't appear to be overwhelming support for 24 hours. Seems pretty split.

I don't have strong feelings either way, but part of being in this league is being available to it.  Remember this, we only had 12 hours to draft for the future of our teams, so having only 24 hours for FAshouldn't be that problematic.

In Regards to Sportsnut's Comments on the 12 hrs in the
Amateur Draft, that was modified by Kenny to go possibly
well beyond that even to the point that Cliff & I disagreed
on a player, who has since left this League, selected
someone after about 30 hrs which was validated as
acceptable . And as to a possible religious "exemption",
that seems unnecessary because it could be handled in
a similar fashion as Cliff & I did for Kris ( Kansas City ) in
processing his Amateur Draft Selections by the
Personal Messages we received .

In most leagues it is 48 hrs  and it works for the most of them, should work here too.

Had alot of my bids go 47 i/2 hours now that's frustrating but it is all part of the game

True, but if your 12 hours elapsed, the next team could then pick, and once that pick was made, your chance to pick in that round was gone.  Therefore, we were only guaranteed 12 hours to make a pick.

I am addicted to this league and find myself logged in almost everyday.  I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night to get my armchair fix for the day.  Even with that said, I would prefer the 48hr rule.

Some of the GM's in here, this is their only league on the site. Thus, they want transactions and other league related items to move on up. I can understand that fact. That will also create less of a time window for Kenny and/or Shelby to get things updated. There's no compelling reason to switch back to 24 hours.
