Ingram has lots of upside still but no issue here if Utah believe this is best for the team. Gordon is still a nice source of 3s, points and steals and Faried can potential gain a bigger role this year. When I am processing, please clarify salary- is the 7m only this year?
I don't like to, but I am going to have to say for this trade. Reasons being:- B.Ingram is one of two of the top fantasy players on Utah's roster- E.Gordon is very much overpaid (and not even starting this year apparently), and he'll be the full $13.8m against the cap next year which hurts (for comparison sake, Russell Westbrook went for $12m/year, Blake Griffin went for $8m/year, Paul George went for $10.5m /year in Free Agency this summer).- E.Moore isn't anything that you can't get on the FA market at the moment for the minimum contract ($0.5m/year, such as George Hill), and K.Faried is buried as the 3rd string C, or 3rd string PF...so really he's like the 5th best big in BKN. Not sure he's got any easy path to minutes.I'm just not seeing the value for one of Utah's best players, when they could sign some players in FA for the min. contract amount to fill out the roster with depth, if that's what they're really after, all the while keeping Ingram on the roster. One last thing to point out is that we can't re-sign players in our league. So Utah will lose Moore after this season, and then lose Gordon and Faried after next season.Ingram is still an RFA, so you Utah will be able to keep him after next season, for 4 more years. So it's 6 years of team control for Ingram, vs. 2 from Gordon/Faried and 1 from Moore. If getting more bodies on the roster is the goal, there is still some depth out in the FA market that can be had for free.
