All the softies are heading to Montreal in return for a goalie of the future. Tristan Jarry was drafted by LA years ago as a 1st round selection, 27th overall in the 2013 FNHL Entry Draft. We welcome him back to the fold. We also land a high 1st rounder for dealing all that talent to the Habs.

The Habs confirm.

Montreal needs to fill out the roster up front and we had to sell some prospects to get quality players.
Zacha is promising.
Koivu is pure gold for any team.
Gaborik is a stop gap measure until Zacha contributes fulltime.
I like Jarry but to get this much talent in return it was too much to turn down.

Its a good deal for both sides, though I'd prefer LA's package. The Habs get Koivu on a great contract for two years and he should continue to way outperform that salary. Zacha is an exciting young guy and Gabby could rebound to a solid producer again if healthy.

Goalie prospects are iffy but Jarry still gets praised. O'Regan looks like he'll make the jump soon. Considering the price of goalies in this league, that could have been the deal right there, but LA picks up 1st and another solid piece.
