We did not want to give up Moreland but this should improve the overall team depth this year for a playoff run and brings in 2 top prospects for the farm system.   Yankees to confirm.  Thanks Corey!

The Yankees overpay to bring in Moreland. With that being said, the yanks move MI alex gonzalez #4 on there MI depth chart, OF Marlon Byrd who ranked #4 on the OF depth chart. Davidson is a hit or miss spec that the yanks would of liked to kept around, but with Moreland age, we can live with passin him along. Matzek a guy the yanks love. But with the youth of guys like Grienke Romero Richard in the mlb and Carlos Perez and Jacob Turner down on the farm the yanks agree to send Matzek.

All in all yes the yanks overpay, but we trade 4 guys from 4 positions of strength to acquire a much need CI and one with great youth and upside.
