I'm good with this deal, Tyler Toffoli is a good young player, and Semin produces plenty points, I think its a good deal especially now that I wanna make a push for the cup.

Now that I have time to comment: Vancouver comes out well ahead on this trade but it is fair. In any given year Semin has the talent to be a top 10 winger so he isn't a huge downgrade and there are some nice perks vis-a-vis contract and position. Dual wing eligibility is great and the cap hit at $3.4m compares very favorably to Kessel's resign value of $7.3m. All in all, a straight up swap wouldn't be questioned given that Semin is far more than half the player but only costs half the price.

Tyler Toffoli is a grade A top-six offensive prospect that is NHL ready now. Landing him in addition to Semin is a coup and given some perspective, Vancouver should be pleased with their return. Well done, good trade.
