Phillies do this to get out from Kinsler's contract.  We signed him last year hoping to win and it didn't work out.  I'm happy to get a couple of cheaper pieces that may or may not contribute but getting out of that big contract (mostly) will help me sign some other players.

Giants are taking a chance Kinsler will be more productive hitting in front of Mike Trout and company.  With MI being such a coveted position in FGM, if the Giants can get at least a few productive years from Kinsler, it will all be worth it.  The Kinsler contract is a bit of an albatross, but the Cash Exchange minimizes the impact and helps in case there has to be a contract buyout down the road.  Tough to give up Aaron Altherr, but given the rise of other Phillies OFs, he seems destined to a platoon role, which, coupled with his nagging injuries, is offset by the acquisition of Kinsler.  Brent Suter is a promising SP, but the Hammel Trade helps fill the void left by his departure.  Giving up Mac, is of course, hard for me as a Giants homer, but he seems to be the odd man out in the Giants MLB OF makeover. 

Trade took some negotiating, but we got there.  Thanks papps!
