The cubs do this to get infield depth which is needed. Having story is a nice piece to have. Villar fits my team and can play in two slots. I add some picks in the deal to send some contracts to take some cap off my roster as well. It was like two deals. The first group of prospects for the 2 players I receive. Then the picks cover the cap in the bottom three players going to CHW. This will help me complete a few more deals for some team needs .

Wsox agree this was a tough trade to make for me but it had to be done. I already lost 8 players to ir 5 of them starting pitchers and most of them will be out most of the year that being said i decided that kepping villar on my team beyond this yr was not going to happen and i have to resign my 1st base guy in sano which would take a big chunk of money and yes story will be a good ss but im not confident in haveing Already betts big contract and sano big contract i dont feel confident in adding a 3rd big contract so i was able to add a bunch of prospects i feel can help my team in by 2022 and 2023. This will alow me to add a few more players in 2023.

Week 1 and already waiving the white flag?

This will not be a tanking. I have been looking at free agency to try and replace the pitching i lost but their is a lack of starting pitching and lack of position players out their because of the week fa class this yr. I recently signed a few pitchers but to replace my starting pitching those guys wont replace the scoreing i will lose until my players come back. I still have great players on my hitting team and this trade i bring back some guys that will make my hitting stronger. Moniak is a everday starting centerfielder for phillies. Lopez is a 3b that just recently go called up by the reds and should be able to score me some runs sense reds traded away most of their tallented players. The only 2 players that might not make it up this yr is Justin Foscue 2b texas and Drey Janeson p ariz what im reading is their is a chance by middle to end of season they might get a chance but both teams want to let them get experience  at double a level before they consider doing this.
