Jays/Brewers Trade
« on: January 16, 2022, 08:51:07 PM »
Jays Trade:

SP Brayan Bello
OF Joey Weimer
OF Matt Gorski

Brewers Trade:

SP Reiver Sanmartin  $ 550,000  2026 (:MIL: pay 2022 in full)
SP Brent Killam
SS Luis Curbelo

Doing this deal to continue building up minors up for future years. I am pretty high on Sanmartin but decided this deal is still worth the investment dealing him. Weimer/Gorski were part of previous discussions, just didn't make sense in that one but happy to add them now. I am also pretty high on Bello and while he may not become a true Ace definitely has upside of #2/3 starter eventually.

For us this is a better option than trying to get an SP of the same calibre of Sanmartin. He is risky as hitters have not gotten a good read on his repertoire of pitches. If he can maintain his level of pitching and hopefully improve a little in a few categories he could be a steal. The other 2 prospects are ones we found together and agreed upon to. put in the deal. The extra funds are nice because it gives us a possibility of sitting back a while and watch the big names go. At the same time we will be looking to take advantage of every break we can get and remain classy.

Nice dealing again Brew Crew
